About Me

After many years of living in various countries, I have decided to realize a long-term dream of mine to travel the ancient Silk Road from Germany to Japan by motorcycle.

There's no doubt that there will be the most amazing places to see on the way, but what will make the experience truly special is the people I'll meet. This is why I hope to find hosts as much as possible when not sleeping in my tent

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been active on Couchsurfing for about 14 years now. When I first got to know CS, it had been quite a revelation. It did not only change my travels, but my life. I met some of my best friends through CS and made uncountable, special memories I wouldn't have made otherwise.

I enjoy the oportunity of entering someone's life, even just for a moment, and getting to know them better. If you as a host have the chance to spend time with me, teach me about your life and culture, I appreciate it very much. Nevertheless, I have hosted myself, and I understand that life is happening and things don't always work out. I try to be a guest who can make a contribution in some way.

Interests

Of course I love to travel and everything which somes with it: getting to know foreign cultures and people, realizing that we have more in common than I might have thought. I love to be outdoors: hiking, climbing, swimming, cross-country-skiing and other sports you can practice outside.
I enjoy to be active: going out exploring, but I am also the kind of guy who needs a break from time to time, just hanging out.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy exploring when it comes to Music and Film. I would like to read more, I read more non-fiction than fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have spent days and nights with people who don't speak my language, we cannot communicate with words, but we feel the same way. Sometimes we get to know each other much better than those we have shared so much time and words with. I love these experiences.

Besides various places in my home country Germany, I have lived in Nagoya, Japan; Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; and Bogota, Colombia. All these experiences have shaped me who I am today.

I built a Glamping Hotel, in Colombia, during the pandemic - and it was successful.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy learning . I like to listen. I would appreciate it very much if you are open to share about your life, perspectives and culture. And of course I am glad to do the same.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy history. I take photography. I film. I enjoy talking about culture, exploring what makes us unique and what we have in common.
