About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I stopped cycling the world and now am based in Brisbane, running a coworking space for creative entrepreneurs. My wonderful partner (Phil) and I try to get away on the bikes whenever we can and appreciate it when we can meet up with locals and pitch our tent on our travels.

MY HISTORY

I'm a Kiwi who for 2 years cycled solo around the world, letting people vote what happened next in my real-life adventure story. I met my biz partner in a hostel in Buenos Aires and started an online travel company called OutTrippin.

I've cycled around Ireland, Scotland, England, France, Spain, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina and Chile. You can see all that madness at www.indianajune.com.

Most of my travels right now are in Australia but I still prefer couchsurfing and meeting locals to any hotel I've ever stayed at!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My mission is to let other CSers join in on my heart-stopping, pin-dropping* travel experiences. I love meeting new people so if you fancy meeting up for a chat and a laugh I'm up for that too.

* Please note your heart won't literally stop and pins may not actually fall from the sky. That would be kinda dangerous.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted, I've surfed and I've spread the word to anyone that will listen – couch surfing epitomises the best of everything on the internet. It's about sharing, learning and bringing interesting individuals together.

Interests

My idea of the perfect day involves a good cup of coffee, followed by a pleasure-cycle some place new where I stop, pull out my sketch book and start doodling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Isn't it funny how a moment noticed can change your whole perspective on the world? When I was walking to work one morning the weather was wild. There were gale force winds, my freshly blow-dried hair was out of control and my mascara was running down my cheeks. I had to walk at a near 45-degree angle just to keep upright when I hit the beach. I was feeling pretty sorry for myself when I noticed a guy walking the other way and he was smiling. Not just grinning to himself, he had a giant smile from ear to ear as he battled the elements.

Then I noticed he had a cane, he was completely blind. The sand was whipping him, the wind was threatening to knock him over but he was overjoyed. That's about the moment I realised what a joy it is to feel. It doesn't matter if it's good or bad; feeling reminds you you're alive.

Keep smiling blind man.
