About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have as many adventures as possible and make the world a better place one person at a time

ABOUT ME

I am an undergraduate student at Temple University and a volunteer EMT. I live in Northern Liberties. I have an apartment that I share with my roommate. I enjoy talking, cooking, and learning about other cultures. My biggest hobby, however, is picking up accents. I do a decent Irish and English one. Once when I was in London I fooled the locals!

PHILOSOPHY

i think that we should be laid back and try to help one another as much as possible. be nice but be assertive because if you are not then people can forget that you are there, and you have so much to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was in Guatemala and I joined a group of surfers in part of their travels and we had a blast. We then split apart and I took my new found skills and hitchhiked across the country and back.

I also surfed Istanbul with my friend Ahmet. I saw many beautiful things there and met some outstanding people. I was very impressed by the Turkish culture.
I also participate in the local community and have met some amazing people and made some awesome friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went to Guatemala and after a stint as a volunteer there I joined couch surfing at a couch surfing party that was a going away party for a frenchman who had just finished a internship and was going back home to France. Then after that I was just swept along the with the rest of my new friends. In the morning we decided to go to a town by the Lake "Lago de Atiklan." Before I knew it I was at another going away party, although this doubled as a birthday party. I learned all sorts of new skills and listened to my host talk about his stories hitchhiking. Inspired I made my way to Coban and saw and experienced more amazing sites and people.

Interests

Medicine. I am studying biology and psychology. I worked as an EMT, in pediatric emergency medicine. I have worked both doing 911 care and transport for a children's hospital.. I love to travel and have been to 13 countries as of yet. I try my best to expand my comfort zone one experience at a time.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like anything with a beat to it. A little rap, rock, some hard rock, classical rock, soft rock, acoustic. Some of my favorite authors are Terry Pratchett, Malcolm Gladwell, Jim Butcher. Those would be the top three.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When on maternity rotation in school I was present for a C section and worked with children less than a day old. I have worked with some very young and very sick children. When in an operating room I saw a brain. The pulse could be seen through the arteries in the brain. The surgeon was dissecting the back to expose a muscle; running his finger along the organ to watch it contract on his touch!

I think the most amazing thing i have seen is the grand canyon. I saw it from the air in an airliner, and i visited it at the national park. The pictures don't do it any justice.
I have also flown an airplane, single engine, during some of my adventures as a student pilot.
As an EMT, I have helped to save a life a couple times. I have seen many amazing and weird things on the job.
The best thing that I did was couch surfing in Guatemala and Istanbul and all of the friends that I made doing it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn new things no matter how weird. So come by and share! I especially love to learn to cook new dishes. I have traveled allot and lived allot. I have some awesome stories to share but only if you have some stories to share in turn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy good humor, I have spent time on some comedic improv troupes. I am a decent cook and can share a couple of recipes that I know.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, England, France, Greece, Guatemala, India, Israel, Jamaica, Poland, Sweden, Turkey
