About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To keep travelling here and there, once in a while, in different ways

ABOUT ME

As I had the chance to travel quite a lot when I was younger, I caught the virus: once you've started, you can't help it. You just NEED to go and discover other countries, other people, other landscapes. And it is so rewarding! It's also very interesting to see how much each experience changes you, how you grow up.
I like being around people but also need some privacy from time to time, I'm more a pub girl than a disco girl but I really enjoy going out for a beer or two, I love good food (any kind: asian food, italian food, mexican food, french food), and a nice dinner with my friends is one of the things that make me really happy.
I have a thing for bookshops, which is kind of a problem at the moment as I can't take all the books I'd like to (my bag's already heavy, it doesn't need 14 more kgs!).

PHILOSOPHY

Here's a quote I really like, from Kent Nerburn:
"If we don’t offert ourselves to the unknown, our senses dull. Our world becomes small and we lose our sense of wonder. Our eyes don’t lift to the horizon, our ears don’t hear the sounds around us. The edge is off our experience, and we pass our days in a routine that is both comfortable and limiting. We wake up one day and find that we have lost our dreams in order to protect our days."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My place is unfortunately too small to host CSers, but I'm always up for a chat over a coffee or a drink , or to show some places of Paris!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm always amazed at how simple CS relations are. Whether you just meet people for a drink or sleep at their place doesn't matter: it's still simple, and I love it!

Interests

- Watching sunsets (I looooove sunsets)
- Taking pictures (a friend once told me that my camera was actually kind of a graft, as I almost always have it with me)
- Reading
- Going to the cinema
- Going out for drinks
- Hiking (it's a pity 'cause I'm not a good hiker, but I really enjoy it!)
- Travelling
- Chatting

Music, Movies, and Books

Waow, there are so many books, music or movies I like... OK:
- What I'm reading at the moment : "Ce que le jour doit à la nuit" (something like "What the day owes the night", from yasmia Khadra)
- Last book I read : "La vie de l'autre" ("The other woman's life", from frédérique Deghelt)
- Last music crush: "Puggy" and "Yodelice". But on my MP3, I've got classical music, reggae, pop rock, african music...
- Last movie (or one of the last ones): "Last night", "Le chat du rabbin". Otherwise, I can watch movies from "Gone with the wind" (yes...) to "the Aristocats", "The constant Gardener" or "Blood diamond"!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- backpacking in Australia
- Swimming with dolphins
- Holding a joey in my arms
- Riding an elephant,
- Roadtripping with two good friends in Western Australia
- Travelling in South-East Asia for 3 months with a friend who managed to stand me, even though we were together 24/7!! She deserves a medal!

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmmmm... I could teach you some reunionese, vietnamese and french recipes (that's if you like cooking, of course... or eating). Or if you want to learn French we could do a tandem, that could be great!

And if you happen to know some stuff about photography, I'm very interested!!!!
