About Me

I'm Robin! I live with my girlfriend and one of our mutual friends in Lund in the south of Sweden. Things that I normally do: I study psychology, drink coffee, hang out with friends, play music. I like to eat, and cook. And travel.

Without turning this too much into an ad on a dating site I'd also like to claim that I am somewhat reasonable, friendly and interesting to be around. And I like long walks in parks or on mountain trails.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to the community in early 2009, and since then I've been using it a lot during many months of travelling. The most awesome thing about it is that I get to experience places, people and travel destionations from a perspective that I would never have experienced had I been the usual tourist Couchsurfing is a fantastic way to experience things that would be way harder to "find" without the website, and to meet interesting and friendly people from all over the world.

Interests

When I'm not studying I really enjoy creating and listening to music. I play the banjo in a indiepop/folk band with some good friends, I sing in a choir and I'm trying to learn how to play the saxophone. The latter is easier said than done, but I'm really trying.

Another interest of mine is cycling! Last summer me, my girlfriend and a couple of other friends rode our bikes from the south of Sweden to Italy - truly an unforgettable experience. I am a huge fan of being outdoors doing fun things such as skiing and trekking. During our summer breaks I work in northern Norway, which provides me with a fantastic opportunity to enjoy some awesome nature.

Not to forget - I also love reading, watching movies and playing video games. I am, in other words, still in contact with my inner geek.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music has it's foundation in the music that was created in the 60's and 70's. In high school ALL I listened to was Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Kinks and so on. Nowadays I have a somewhat broader taste which means that I really enjoy listening to jazz, blues and bluegrass, indie-pop and pretty much everything with a nice beat. Some bands that I like are Beirut, Fleet Foxes, Tallest man on Earth, José Gonzáles. Amason and Dungen are two Swedish bands that I can really recommend!

I recently watched a French-Canadian movie called Mommy, it was very emotionally intense with great acting and a moving plot. I'd almost want to command you to watch it, but I'll settle with a sincere recommendation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing up the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu was completely amazing, a thing everyone should get to experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you to play an ABBA song on the instrument that is your own hands, or to say a few words in one of Sweden's, in my opinion, least charming dialects.

If you can expand my cooking-horizon I'll be forever grateful!
