We got married in 2020 just before COVID struck.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

RAYMOND
I've not yet had a Couchsurfing experience, but I've invested heavily in Airbnb and believe in cultivating a global community for expanded self-knowledge, global cooperation, and trust.

OSIAH
My first Couchsurfing experience was in Paris where after following detailed directions I arrived in the snowing darkness. I knocked on the door of a stranger's home. The door opened. It was the right place! I was welcomed in, given dinner, invited to dessert with champagne, lead to an apartment out back and given the key to come and go. The kindness of strangers is one of the best things about being alive.

I taught English in rural Africa for two years and lived in a baking soda factory town in Transylvania for three. I also lived a year in Brazil at age 16.
