About Me

CURRENT MISSION

LOVE VANCOUVER

ABOUT ME

I'm a bit of a gastronome. I spend a lot of time obsessing over the most insignificant details of books and film. I like having people stay in my house if they don't hang their underwear on my couch.

I wrote that two years ago -- I have no idea why I was fearful of underwear on my couch. Cool.

Currently my couch isn't available, but should be opening up for the end of the month.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I haven't participated much. I'm really hoping to increase that experience over the next few months, so come one, come all!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a really great experience couch surfing in New York. It was my favorite kind of travel - spontaneous and filled with cultural oddities.

Interests

film, cooking, travel (obviously), politics, history (although anything outside of Canada I'm truly awful at), technology, economics, biking, dancing at bad night clubs, ukuleles, bread, industrial design, mid-century modernism, food security

Music, Movies, and Books

books: I love Anne Carson an unhealthy amount. I'm also the kind of asshole who read Moby Dick and thought it was enthralling. It's a whale of a tale. Wokka wokka.

Music: These days I'm listening to a lot of Talking Heads, and Gill Scott Heron has been making the rounds since I found out that he died recently.

Podcasts: I'm totally inspired by 99% invisible and radiolab. It's a bit overwhelming at times.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are a lot of highlights - Pushkar Camel Fair, Hiked Machu Picchu, Attended a funeral in Tana Toraja, dive bars in LA, but there was a moment in Burma that takes forever to explain but was probably the best and most life affirming day of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you ever need help planning Indian rail trips, send me a message. I don't know how, but I cultivated an in-depth knowledge of routes while I was there.

I want to learn plywood bending techniques.

Countries I’ve Visited

Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
