ABOUT ME

Hey... Dr. Seuss said it!
"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love."

I'm a little weird, definitely. I've got a loud personality. And... I don't know how to reduce myself to a few mere sentences.

But I suppose it's fairly important to say that while I love finding compatible weirdness in people, I've grown up fairly alone, and I need tons of solitary quiet time, especially in the morning. If I invite you, you are very, very welcome to my home, but I do expect visitors to be emotionally-sensitive to the shared space, and to be honest, sincere, and communicative. Whatever amount of time we spend together, let's embrace it with intention.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I discovered CS while I was in Turkey, and I've had the amazing opportunity to learn from innumerable kind and generous hosts. Now that I have a couch to offer, I want to understand what my previous hosts experienced and feel their generosity through my own actions as a host.

Interests

If I could do one thing only for the rest of my days, it´d probably be to climb rocks. I looooooooove rock climbing and backcountry hiking around gorgeous BC, but also shaking my hips like mad, biking lazily for hours in the middle of the night to watch the nocturnal ones, creating things and inventing things, daydreaming about fantastical costumes, sticking my fingers into everybody's beans, NOT using my indoor voice, eating ah-may-zing food, making ah-may-zing food, things not in their typical proportions or dimensions- teeny tiny things or enormous things, reading a good book on a window sill while fat drops of rain plop on leaves or reading a good book atop a sheepskin in front of the fire as the snow wanders down and coats everything in white, randomness, chaos and spontaneity, wind- strong, fearsome wind, observing oddballs, portrait photography, working with my hands, fashion with political threads, new factoids that I can then tell others with gusto, making fires, staring into fires and dancing with fire.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - who does NOT love movies? I LOVE movies, and lately, I REALLY love cyberpunk movies. Hackers, Ghost in the Shell, Fifth Element, Strange Days... Can somebody just put life on pause for five days?

Play me some dubstep so I can dance!
And turn up those piano concertos.

I've been all up on Reddit lately, so no books.
But my favourite book of all time right now is The Diamond Age, by Neil Stephenson.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a little somethin' about how to see with a child-like curiosity, tie knots and climb rocks, see the city with a cyberpunk overlay, change a flat bike tire, spank out some ashtanga yoga, cook like you're in love, and jump like a ninja.
