About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to move pigment on paper in water with squirrel hairs

ABOUT ME

I live in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and I work in SoHo (a neighborhood in Manhattan) at an architecture firm. I used to be a project manager at an architecture office, but now I do architectural illustrations (watercolor and other media) and 3D model. That's what I do for money. I have lived in Rome (9 months) and Germany (a summer), and I've traveled to a few places ( all over Europe, a good deal of Japan, Hawaii and the United States). I love old cities and older regions, not a big fan of hyper-modernism (which is why I live in Brooklyn, not Manhattan). I appreciate wabi-sabi.

PHILOSOPHY

You can find out when we meet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host people on my couch if I can and I live in a really cool neighborhood in New York City. Greenpoint is a very Polish area with lots of cool spots and its right next to Williamsburg, which is supposed to have more artists per square mile than any other place in the world, or so they tell me. I don't know how they arrived at that claim, but when you walk around you will notice that this might be true. It reminds me of many of my favorite places in Europe in terms of the scale of the buildings, the people, the cafes, the restaurants, the art, etc. Comparable to the Mission District in San Francisco, but a little grittier. Come and enjoy!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined a few months before taking a trip to Europe and built up enough cred through hosting to become a legitimate surfer. I host now as much as I can and I love to do it but I also appreciate my personal time. We New Yorkers get a lot of requests and have to say "no" a lot, inevitably, but there are many of us here so don't get discouraged. Every now and then I still get to host someone and we always have a great time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travel, people, art, mountains, skiiing through yellow creamy clouds on mountains, serene beaches, calm after a fresh midwestern blizzard, weird lenticular clouds clinging to mountaintops...

Teach, Learn, Share

I watercolor and I can teach you how to go to the local watering holes. I draw a lot and can teach you that too.

Countries I’ve Visited
