About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live with compassion for all.

ABOUT ME

Love to pursue my passions and respect other folks who do the same.
Happiest and learn the most about myself, others and life when traveling with other people.
Trying to appreciate all experiences good or bad.
Attempting to further myself from distractions and comforts to find myself closer to myself.

Warrior of the Light by Paulo Coelho, page 84.

PHILOSOPHY

It is not the destination, but the journey.
A bird can fly, but a fly can't bird.
Do without doing.
Live simply.

Live below your means, and use your money to support good things: http://www.kickstarter.com/profile/dooug

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host open-minded folks and enjoy celebrating our similarities and differences. I enjoy welcoming folks to Detroit and learning about their travels & homes.

I couchsurf once in a blue moon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a handful of friendly CouchSurfers since 2009 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and now in my new home in Detroit. I've hosted friendly people from China, Japan, France, Germany, Canada, England, all over the US, a cat, and a mom with her 2 year old and chinchilla.

I surfed a couch in Oakland, CA and two weeks later, she came and surfed my couch in Ann Arbor, MI in 2010.

I hosted two rad Canadians, and then carpooled with them to the Rothbury, Michigan Electronic Forest Music Festival in 2011.

I surfed in Denver, CO for another DrupalCon conference and made some wonderful new friends in March 2012! In June 2012 I returned to Denver and had some more great times with the same folks!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Woke up this morning.
Did a 5 day hike to Machu Picchu, Peru in 2006.
Attended Rothbury, MI (Electric Forest) Music Festival 2009 & 2011!
I was blessed by the wing of an owl at an ancient healing ritual.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to share my knowledge of my listed interests. Just ask questions!

I always love hearing people talk about what they do best. I'd enjoy learning how to cook more healthy veggie meals. I want to learn more about alternative ways of living.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Peru

Countries I’ve Lived In

Costa Rica, Ecuador, United States
