About Me

CURRENT MISSION

We will make this world truly better. Let me know if you are ready to lend some love and a hand.

ABOUT ME

I hate trying to describe myself, but lets see. I have spent lots of time in Virginia. Lived in Italy for three years. Lived in New York for some time. I have on and off again relations with politics. Having gone so far as to manage a campaign for a year of my life. But the relationship is rather manic as I fluctuated on what is the best means to bring about real change in the world. Which leads to my next point... I would like to see change in the world. I try to love everyone and everything, and I spend a good deal of time trying to keep that at the forefront of my mind. I studied philosophy, and always find myself wandering into different religious traditions before pulling back. I do not know the proper balance, or rather ethical balance between finding oneself and setting oneself to a task that is for the betterment of others. Which is more important? I love music. Adore it. Love those who make it. Love those more who feel it.

I hope to meet you.

I love random things. Random art, random kindness, random spontaneous singing (I have been known to go into impromptu falsetto concerts without warning, random is good.

PHILOSOPHY

It's important to keep your back in good shape so that later in life you might avoid arthritis.

Shave only to make your mother happy.

and most importantly....

He lives in wisdom who sees himself in all and all in him...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I always say yes. If you want to stay here the answer will always be affirmative. If I am around too I will always bring you on a tour, or leave you alone... whichever you prefer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Got to stay in an old building in Ireland that looked like a castle on a mountainside, that was fun. Also with a man that woke me up at 6am to cook fresh oats and tell me how to soak my oats at length. That was something else entirely.

I have stayed on Mountainsides, and dirt floors. I stayed with like 100 Germans in Ecuador and saw an Ecuadorian punk band, and met a security guard that got really drunk and sang made up Spanish love songs.(While we hid his guns)

I have hosted folks who were working, visiting the doctor, just wanted to party, see a concert, or just passing through. With a wonderful German fellow, we drank moonshine in a parking garage. One really awesome girl left me a fan once. Now I associate the gentle humming producing a cool breeze on my face with Couchsurfing.

Interests

The news, The amazon, music, Pietro Crespi, Riding and pimping my bike, climbing, running, water (all of it), creepy trees, hidden gems, open secrets, phasing through walls, something new, and keeping my feet warm. Victor Jara... (Look this guy up. Amazing story. Amazing music. Amazing person. If you like him let me know!!!)
Ponchos, Coffee, espresso, and coffee. (Sadly this is a major vice for me)
Unique instruments. Right now I am really into the Quena, and Charango and my new baritone uke.

Music, Movies, and Books

East of Eden, great book. I am attempting my first Proust full work. It i quite the task... I already am doubting the worthwhileness of it.

Nerdy philosophy books, Marquez.. pretty much anything. Billy Collins..always.. Lahiri, Allende, my friend Kirsten Clodfelter (look her up.. shes good stuff)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hopped a train and rode on a bed of fresh-cut pine under a canopy of the most detailed night sky I have ever seen.

I once saw a grizzly bear sit on a car and eat my sandwich like a human.

I went to see a solar fair in D.C, and it rained for the whole week and so nothing worked.

Teach, Learn, Share

I promise to one day post something important here because I think this is a wonderful idea. Sadly I don't have a thought concrete enough that I would not regret posting.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Germany, Haiti, Ireland, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican City State
