ABOUT ME

When I'm old and retired and sitting in front of my open fire (winter time) or gazing over a Tuscan vineyard in my rocking chair (summer time) I'd like to look back at my life and conclude that if I could re-live it I would do it all the same. To look back at the countries I have lived in, the people I have met all over the world, the journeys I have undertaken and the experiences that have shaped me to what I will have become by then. Different jobs, different countries, the same cherished friends and newly created ones over time... A book full of stories and experiences.

That's the long term aim, and right now I'm working hard to achieve all that :D

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy. Constantly. Work, travels, the bed you sleep in, the breakfast you have. Enjoy it. And if you don't, change it.

And be grateful. I am very conscious of what I have and am able to do and this way I enjoy it all the better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I'm often out and about I only occasionally host people but these experiences have been positive and rewarding. Furthermore I attend the Dublin couch surfing meetings at times and generally source my language tandem partners through the website!

Furthermore I love various sports, like to read, explore new things, oh food yeah I LOVE food, and drinks, and good company, interesting people, good friends and new contacts... the list is endless :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess what I would classify as amazing is the sheer diversity of travels and overseas destinations that you can visit if you really want to. However what would stand out and what has in terms of natural wonders impressed me most was a four day hike in the Himalayas, hiking up for 4,500 meters with the most wonderful vistas while standing on the shoulders of giants.
