About Me

You MUST be verified to stay with me!! I have had so many great experiences with CS, however it takes only one bad apple to ruin it for the lot. Also, I am empathic, so if my intuition raises a red flag about you , I will not let you stay here.
Just had to clarify.

CURRENT MISSION

To take life a bit less seriously! Joke more, laugh more and keep everyone feeling easy!

ABOUT ME

I drive a lot for my job, so when I can relax, I try to do it at home. I am very fortunate in all aspects of my life and like to meet people who think out of the box. While one needs an income to survive and or prosper, $$ is not my mission in life. I prefer to dabble in the things that require more thought and creativity than following the crowds with their materialism.

As oxymoronic as it sounds, I am quite narrow minded towards xenophobia.

PHILOSOPHY

To be interested in others and treat them how they would like to be treated. I really try to lay my own personal biases aside and look from a truly objective viewpoint. That way I can lay the negativity to waste and let the good stuff happen. Keep learning! Keep finding new ways to make life interesting and hopefully have a good impact on others and the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to the CS project, but am very stimulated by the level of participation here. I think that people, no matter what their backgrounds are, want to meet and help others. I just hope that I can be available for others when they come visiting my area.

Update, I love how this connects people who might not otherwise meet. I have met several people now and would encourage everyone to break out of the shell and get to know others. TELL EVERYONE!!!!!!! Share the good times and help people get out of their shells!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have a good friend that turned me on to the idea, she has stayed with us numerous times and told about all of the positive experiences she had. I am surfing right now for an upcoming trip to Africa and look forward to the possibilities.

Interests

MUSIC! I love to play guitar when I get a moment. Gardening is also good for relieving life's stresses . I do walk a lot and take my dogs along to enjoy the scenery. When the rivers are just right, you will see me frequently rafting and/or fishing and just loving life.
I am a member of Linux Runners on CS and Face Book. I really love working with Linux OS and teaching others about it. It's a great way to contribute to something that isn't a part of the "consumption" culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Very rarely have time for movies, but I remember "Far away, so close" as one of my all time personal favorites. I prefer to watch "foreign" or independent films as I really dislike being spoon-fed a predictable plot by the film mafia.

I just bought Norman Mailer's "The time of our times" compilation and really look forward to reading it all. I loved the "Deer park". Most anything written by Wilbur Smith (S. African author), Ernest Hemingway, Robert Ruark and anything I can find on Africa. I do also like Ken Follet and others of his caliber.

for music, that would take too much time to list. Let's just say, Austin City Limits and you will pretty much get the idea if you know what I mean.

Pretty much anything by Kim Larsen (danish singer extraordinaire).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching my children as they were coming into this world is the thing I can say that still amazes me. I have seen lots of wonders, been on different continents, but watching a baby being born takes the cake for me. You can't even understand the impact until it happens to you.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will get back to you on this one. My best things come to me late at night or early in the morning.

I could show you a few guitar chords or maybe give a tip or two on shooting a great photograph. I can teach how to tie a good knot for fishing and basic sportsmanship.

Countries I’ve Visited
