About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live well

ABOUT ME

I like writing, running, music, reading, bookstores, fresh sheets, and going to the movies, especially if I can have a glass of red wine while I'm there. I also like red wine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couchsurfing has proven a wonderful way to meet some great people. Looking forward to being more involved now that I'm back at home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing host took me surfing (funnily enough), though it's somewhat shameful to admit that I hadn't already done this, given where I live. And I made him crepes, which is an important point. I'm a terrible cook, but I make excellent crepes. If you allow me access to your kitchen, I will make you crepes. If you are the one doing the surfing, I might make them for you (or French toast, or poached eggs...any breakfast food really).

Also stayed in Chicago for Lollapalooza in an apartment with 25 other people. Quite the unique Lolla experience!

Interests

Writing, reading, yoga, staying up late, listening to music (especially live), spending time with my partner Dan and our dog Louis!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books etc: Klosterman, Bukowski, Orwell, much poetry.

Movies: Almost Famous, Across the Universe, United States of Leland, The Boat that Rocked. I generally favour television programs over movies.

Music: Favourites include the Dandy Warhols, Morning After Girls, the Beatles, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Tame Impala, Bloc Party, Dead Meadow and the Strokes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Clean Air Clear Stars festival that took place in Pioneertown in September 2009 was certainly a life-highlight.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak a few languages and will happily teach you how to ask for directions, pick up or swear in any of them. I can also introduce you to the joy of peanut butter pasta.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Cuba, Estonia, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, France, United States
