ABOUT ME

Hey there,
Im an ass whopping, beer poppin, chinchilla slinging southerner, livin it up in in the city that never sleeps. Actually there is naught that is particularly southern about my demeanor except for my love of okra and collard greens, but it does make me the brunt of many (admittedly quite funny) joke round' these parts.
Working at a sustainable design / urban planning company (which doubles as a research lab for Columbia) in Bangalore this summer.
Recently returned from a solo trans-Europe bike tour along the Mediterranean, only to set ass on a desk chair in the Columbia Architecture studio, where it is fated to remain planted for the next three years.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've had couch surfers stay with me before and I always got to know some really awesome people. I love just meeting new people, learning about there journeys and their perspective on the world, and then being able to help them out in some way. I used to live in Berlin, was able to couchsurf until I found a more permanent place there, and then was able to spend 6 (f$@!!%$!ing AWESOME) months traveling around Eastern Europe, Belgium and Spain, with more than a little help from my friendly couch surfing hosts and WWOOFing hosts. If I believed in Karma I would say I'm trying to return the favor. But I don't so lets just leave it at 'I love to meet new people!'

My favorite has gotta be "Unbearable Lightness of Being" I'm a big Vonnegut fan. "The Berlin Stories" by Christopher Isherwood. Music; I really like Wolf + Lamb, Blockhead, Gold Panda, Soul Clap, Pantha du Prince .... (Translation: House Music)

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

The amazing people I've met on couch surfing and the hospitality they are willing to offer complete strangers!!
Biking into Joshua Tree National Park in pitch black during a full moon while all the wildflowers are blooming and then waking up to see that we were camped in the middle of a 100 foot tall jumble of rocks.
Sitting at the trash fence at Burning Man and watching electrical storms move across Black Rock desert, with a good friend in one arm and a magnum of cheap champagne in the other.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I can teach you how to replace your fifth flat tire of the day in a thunderstorm on the top of the mountain, even after your tire irons and bike pump both break. But hopefully you will never be in the situation to have to do this.
