About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience life to its fullest not shy away from a challenge or things that intimidate me

ABOUT ME

I always have troubles with these...

I love learning and like to be surrounded by intelligent people.
I'm passionate about what i do with my life, about politics, current global issues, and about what i view is right versus wrong.
I'm incredibly liberal and surround myself by open minded individuals.
I'm fiercely opinionated and love debating with people. Even if we disagree, i still like to challenge each other's points of view
When i'm bored, i think about and plan for all the places i want to go travel in the world
I often spend my time online reading as much as i can about current events and politics
I love to go out with friends to bars, clubs, concerts, and festivals
I like helping others
I am going to get a PhD in Adult Clinical Psychology to pursue research in addictions and treatment
I am a outspoken Atheist
I love to talk with people from foreign countries (or different states, for that matter) and hear how their lives differ from mine, how their perspective compares to mine, and to discover all the things we have in common despite our different upbringings.
As much as i love company, i also love exploring on my own.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. Respect others' differences and don't infringe on others' rights when they are harming no one. Treat everyone as an equal. Be open minded and curious about new things/differences, not afraid. Be nice to others and help people in need. Recognize that we will always be more similar than different and that we are all striving to attain happiness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience was when i backpacked throughout Europe on my own. I stayed with several hosts throughout the many countries I visited and these experiences were the highlights of my trips. I've met some amazing people when hosting here in Seattle and can't wait to continue to contribute to and benefit from the couchsurfing community.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I am a huuge fan of music and can appreciate almost every genre. Right now i've really been into electronic, world, lounge etc. The diversity of music that can all be described as "electronic" never ceases to astound me.

Movies: I'm not nearly as into movies as others seem to be, but i enjoy them from time to time. I love watching documentaries and learning about subjects on which i know nothing about.

Books: I really enjoy reading and read a variety of different genres of books. Ive recently gotten into reading non-fiction books and learning about things i never learned about in the class room

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee jumping in new zealand from the world's highest, operating site. I have never been so terrified in my entire life, nor have i ever gotten such a natural rush.

2011 was my first time at burning man and i still cannot put that experience into words.

A two week ayahuasca retreat outside of Iquitos, Peru. One of the most challenging experiences of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my passion for psychology and drug policy reform. I've been known to go on and on about politics and religion, especially when drinking.

I want to learn anything and everything. Well, i take that back. I want to learn mostly anything and mostly everything

I want to share an awesome night out with someone who can really show me what it's like to be a local in any given city.
