To live the next 30 years as though they were my last...

ABOUT ME

English by birth, lived in France for 48 years with French nationality but have now returned to my birthplace. Travelled widely in my 20s and 30s. Lived in beautiful areas of France: Paris, the Loire Valley and the Finistere. Passionately creative, can't stop! Too late to "be an artist" now, but fiddle around with everything I can lay my hands on. Adult children in London and near Princeton, NJ. And a grandchild or two. Also an incorrigible gastronome and a good cook.

PHILOSOPHY

Staying as young as possible INside my head.
Live and let live...
Non attachment to personal possessions...
And trying to let my lifestyle have as little impact as possible on the environment.

I think this might be a better way to continue to visit other cultures. I should be very proud to enable people from all over to discover this lovely part of England.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Most of my experiences of hosting have been wonderful, better than I expected. And I have found the most wonderful housesitters, through the 50+ group notably.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I adopted a racehorse in 1997 which was going to the butcher. He was 11. I kept him for 10 years and cared for him with everything I had, until I moved from the country into town, when I placed him in a good retirement home where I know he is well cared for for the rest of his days. I miss him dreadfully. I had a very special relationship with that animal. He died Christmas 2012.
