ABOUT ME

Open and easy going 23 year old. Keen to meet new friends, learn something about where they are from and enjoy some interesting, unfamiliar and memorable experiences!

I grew up in Yokohama, Japan and then England when my family moved. I have passion for traveling and exploring new places. In 2010 I backpacked around the world for 5 months and in 2011 I took the trans-mongolian railway from Europe to China. Both were amazing journeys which I will not soon forget.

For the last 2 years my passion for travel has been overtaken by obsessed with dance music - House, Techno, Disco, Funk etc - and I have been spending all my time/energy/money collecting and improving my music collection. When not at work you can usually find me diggin for new records, partying in London/Berlin or spending time with friends.

Currently I'm training as a commercial lawyer in London, UK. It has been an exciting, challenging and demanding experience so far.

PHILOSOPHY

-If you work hard enough and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to your desires
-Travel solo but never alone
-Be the change you want to see
-Real friendships start from the first goodbye
-Stereotypes, while sometimes true in theory, shouldn't be relied upon in practice
-Few things counteract ignorance as well as being exposed to different cultures, ways of thinking and experiences
-Music is the spice of live
-Never lose interest in the world around you

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed more than I've hosted but that is hopefully changing now I have (finally) got my own flat in London.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I discovered CouchSurfing over 5 years ago and met many wonderful people through the website from all parts of this planet. Although it has been sad to see the community grow and change at such a rapid pace in recent years, without a doubt CS has changed me for the better. The people I've met and the memories I've created with them will last a lifetime!

Interests

Dance music - House, Techno, Deep House, UK Garage, Dub Techno, Disco, Funk, Soul, Ambient, Downtempo, Classical, Instrumental.

Traveling - because travel is not about getting from point A to point B. At best that's tourism, at worst transportation, across a more or less sterile landscape. Real travel is about soaking up the local flavour, getting a sense of other people's lives, and their history.

To relax I enjoy mixing music, exercising or watch quality movies.

I love reading but find less time for it then I want to these days. Currently trying to make my way through Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

Music is probably the best bet if you're into that.

I also know a small number of excellent card tricks and can cook a mean carbonara.
