About Me

I'm an Australian that has been primarily nomadic since 2009. I started travelling on working holidays, living out of a backpack and have been a constant traveler since then.
I was gypsying around Europe in 2011 when I was serendipitous enough to meet my partner in life and adventure, a lovely Dutch man with an amazing energy and a contagious smile, Rudy, (http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/dutchroger), and we have been traveling and exploring the world together ever since.
Our travels experiences have included working holiday visas, hitchhiking, volunteering, wwoofing, campervanning, wildcamping, motorcycle travel, housesitting, caretaking and camping all over the world.
In recent years we have converted a moving truck into a tiny home and lived mostly in Portugal and for this last year, we have been living in an intentional community in suburbs of Melbourne.
We love to meet and hang out with some locals and other travelers that could share their experiences of their countries with us. We also have lots of travelling advice and stories to share from our various experiences on the road: from hitchhiking, camping, working, volunteering and living overseas, housesitting... We are happy to share advice on what we have learnt through our travels.
We both love camping and outdoor living and have a great interest in sustainable, eco-friendly building and living techniques. We'd love to learn and help with any projects you might have.
I prefer slow-travel, I enjoy discovering villages and cities with lots of character, chilling in parks and picnics, partaking in local gourmet delights and relating to people, rather than checking off a list of tourist attractions.
I am passionate about food, love fresh produce and really enjoy the art of cooking. I am more than happy to share some culinary delights with my hosts/guests and equally keen for you to share some of your cooking skills with me (or at least introduce me to your favourite local restaurants or dishes). We are both vegan.
I am a believer in living your life for you but being the best person you can be whilst doing so.
For me, life is about learning and experiencing as much about yourself, the world and your place in it, as possible and it is for this reason I love travelling.

PHILOSOPHY

Que sera, sera... whatever will be, will be....
Treat others as you wish to be treated.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting locals and having them share their favourite experiences in their home countries. Just as I love to have pride to show others around and recommend places to go in wherever we may be or have been.
I am happy to advise of my experiences in the many places I have visited and lived, as well as tips I have picked up being on the road.
When I travel, I want to experience the countries I visit from a genuine perspective and get the feel of a country and it's people. I have had nothing but positive experiences with CS!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed with friends that I have met through my travels as well as those I have met through the CS community. My boyfriend and I have also hosted quite a few people in between and during our own travels. We always try and pay back to the CS community if we have the ability to do so.
I have been incredibly fortunate to have met some really interesting and amazing people. Currently, we are not in the position to host but look forward to doing so again in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music for me is like my interaction with people, I am open to all genres and appreciate most types of music given the right circumstance and atmosphere. You are just as likely to witness me stomping barefoot at a psytrance festival, as you would be jumping up and down at a rock or metal concert or singing folk music around a campfire. I will dance and enjoy most music given the opportunity.
