About Me

CURRENT MISSION

The World is my Oyster.

ABOUT ME

German-born & raised, adventurous, sporty, laid-back, well-traveled, well-educated, enticed by the unknown and unfamiliar in people and places.

I create and design maps (digital and paper maps) for living and have always had an interest in geography and knowing where things/people are and, most importantly, why they are there. That's where my interest in traveling originated.

Like everyone on Couch Surfing, I enjoy traveling and sharing good travel stories - and I got a few of those already. :)

I am a fun, easy-going, open-minded person with a passion and appreciation for diverse music and foods, and the beauty of nature and culture.

I enjoy meeting new, interesting people who teach me new things and help me expand my linguistic, intellectual, and cultural 'horizons'.

I am very physically active and fit and enjoy basketball, soccer, biking, running, hiking, swimming, dancing.

PHILOSOPHY

Joie de vivre
Carpe diem
Ethic of Reciprocity

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't done any "official" couch surfing through this website, but have stayed on many friends' couches all over Europe and the United States :)

Now, it's time to explore new territories through "Couch Surfing" - meet new people that have local knowledge and the scoop on culture, foods, and fun things to do!

In June 2009, I went to hike the Havasupai Trail (Grand Canyon) with a large group of Couch Surfers and I got hooked into this community.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 1989, a month after its fall, I chipped away a piece away from the Berlin Wall - the symbol of the "Iron Curtain" during the 'Cold War' - with my own hands (and a hammer, of course). I still have the piece in my possession.

It was very emotional for me. If the Berlin Wall had not come down, I would not be where and what I am today.
