About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel & Photography

ABOUT ME

Traveling has always been my passion and I decided to quit my job see the world. I started my trip in May 2011 to explore South America and detour to Cuba, Central America and a few weeks in NYC & Toronto. I was returned to Singapore to arrange for my visas to Monoglia and Russia and during the time while I m waiting for my Visas, I mainly explored Thailand and Malaysia. I kicked start my Trans Siberian journey in Beijing Jun'12 and covering Mongolia, Russia and rounding up my trip in Eastern Europe.

I like to experience different cultures and CS has offered a great platform to experience the different lifestyles and grasp a better understanding of socio-political systems of the cities. I enjoyed my CS experiences along the way and I treasured the friendship I made along the way.

I enjoyed taking photos during my trip and I like architecture buildings, forms/structure, people, scenery and culture events/festivals. Do feel free to visit my website : www.flickr.com/photos/travelwithrico

PHILOSOPHY

One Life, Lives It!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was introduced to couchsurfing by my friend. I have a wonderful experience with my host in Japan and met up a couple of couchsurfers at his place too. It is like a global village where like-minded travellers come together and share. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was amazed by my first couchsurfing experience in Japan in 2009. I was not able to find any budget accommodation during the summer festival in Japan and my friend asked me to explore CS website. I was astounded by the level of trust my host had on me and the level of hospitality he has provided. Besides, I enjoyed the interaction with him and also fellow CSers he hosted at the same time.
