ABOUT ME

I recently graduated from college with my degree in Environmental Engineering. I speak English and German and I am working on learning Spanish. I love to travel! I spent a year in Switzerland in high school and just recently went back to visit my friends in Hungary, Switzerland and Italy. I have been to Australia, Mexico, Canada, and all around Europe. I am very laid back and just really enjoy getting to know new people. A BIG part of my life is my family. I spend a lot of time with my amazing parents. I have a husband and 9 year old stepdaughter. They are both awesome and I consider myself to be so blessed to have them. I like to smile a lot. I think it is the best thing you can do for yourself.

PHILOSOPHY

I just live my life. I try to not focus on the past or future all that much. I tend to just live in the present.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I lived about 1 hr from Denver I hosted a few people in our mountain house. That was a fantastic experience. I've stayed with a few hosts in Europe. I don't currently have the ability to host people, but I am willing to meet people and show them around. I would also be willing to show people our mountains. I am pretty busy at work, but if you give me enough notice I can try to make time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, but have heard a lot about it.

Interests

Travel!!
Music, meeting new people, doing anything outdoors, yoga, languages, bellydancing, knitting, getting over my fear of heights, rock climbing, gardening, parenting, cooking, smiling, making weird food that people usually buy at the store like vanilla extract, butter, and yogurt.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I like almost anything ranging from classical all the way to some rap. Currently, I'm listening to a lot of Hamilton (I'm trying to win tickets to see the musical) I love bluegrass and folk, but hate country. I play violin so I like classical and fiddle too.
Books:
I love too many books to count. I am currently reading Modern Mindfulness. I also listen to a ton of books on tape during my hour long drive to work.
Movies:
I like good ones. :) My interest in movies has waned a bit. I tend to like movies with a happy ending. I like adventure, sci fi, and laughing in movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled to Cambodia with my brother. We did a home stay with a local family through Airbnb. It was really amazing to get to know this local family and know that we were helping the community.

Teach, Learn, Share

Avoid traveling to Naples, Italy alone.
Especially if you are female.
Actually it wasn't that bad, but I would still recommend a partner. :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Cambodia, Canada, Costa Rica, Fiji, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Northern Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Dominican Republic, Switzerland, United States
