About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To Travel the globe with my little English accent :D

ABOUT ME

Im a friendly, enthusiastic and adventurous man, my interests are in travelling, sports, cultural studies, nutrition, socialising. I am currently travelling a vast amount of europe and want to enjoy couch surfing, but also wish to see as much as i can see while in each country.

I'm non-selective about my guests, I won't discriminate because your male, female, German, Chinese or French, I think there's always something interesting to talk about and we should get along very well. Im a very outgoing person and often spend time with my CSers showing them exciting places in Leeds or neighbouring regions and following it off with a good meal where we can all work together to make the most interesting of dishes...i refuse to serve "ready-meals"...haha :D

I've travelled to more countries than labelled, but i got so bored of filling in the country names, descriptions, city lists, arrival and departure dates that i gave up, but ill tell you all about them when we meet :D

PHILOSOPHY

Treat a stranger like a friend and they'll likely become one

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch - Benjamin Franklin

Be genuine, never pretentious because any friend you earn will like the real you and not just a facade.

I disapprove of what you say, but I defend to the death your right to say it - Voltaire

Everyone loves a bit of cheese but add too much and your farts will smell haha (metaphor for cheesy clichés)

Those who make you believe absurdity; can make you commit atrocities - Voltaire

Sometime when I see "art" it

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I both surf and host, sharing a great experience in whichever i do. I love meeting fellow travellers, and i work in the CouchSurfing community as much as possible. I've hosted loads of great CS parties with an excess of 60 people in many, helped surfers moving to my city get a job/place to live etc. I am an ambassador of CS so have contributed through my travel guides, feedback, posts and experience. My life is effectively interwoven with CS now through me going to the weekly meetings every week, having hundreds of CS friends and spending most evenings with a new CS guest to host. I love it and the people are great, far more open minded and they tend to make an effort to get to know you so you can make the most valauable friends from it :D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ive encountered a range of friendly of all colours and creeds among my travels though not exclusively through Couchsurfing. I have had many excellent experiences through Couchsurfing and hope to have many more!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived through endless months of deprivation of the one thing most holy and sacred to an Englishman...TEA! This is a feat of such sheer magnitude that the Tea Daily newspaper is publishing a headliner article titled "To tea, or not to tea", and the sheer volumes of tea and scones I've been sent by my good friend the queen among many other top-hat wearing English gentlemen is marvelous. So tonight as i tuck into my 'Fish and chips', accompanied by a good brew of a righteous English blend, I'll look back at my suffering, and know that England, glorious England shall be strong because of me! Haha
- Yes i love playing with stereotypes!!!! :D

I've done some wacky things in my time too, some intentional, some unbelievable and some disasters that are too funny when you look back at them, here's a few:
-Fallen out of a moving train in Denmark
-Been stuck on a 36 hour train in China with nothing but a banana to survive
-Base jumped off a derelict oil rig in Russia
-Got lost in the tunnels of Prague in tunnels so small you have to lay on a skateboard and roll through for hours
-Freedived with sharks
-Swam with with dolphins
-Hosted solidly for 3 months without less than 3 CSers a night during peak season
-Competed in Europe and Asia in martial arts tournaments and won my rounds
-Travelled to every continent (Minus Antarctica...soon Antarctica soon)
-Lived in the woods (completely self sufficient)
-Been kidnapped (Escaped by kicking out the tail-lights until they stopped and stringing out, running accross the road as they opened the boot)
-Lived among Tibetan monks for a few weeks
-Saved a mans life from an overdose (complete stranger)
-Cooked for 60 people
-Was a vegetarian for 2 years
-Talked my way out of gunpoint in Brazil
-Written and sold my books
-Acted in a Malaysian movie (6 minute roll)
-Housed homeless people for a reintegration program working in a similar concept to Couchsurfing
-Survived southern Indian curry...ouch hehe
-Travelled Europe by bicycle for 3 months on £500
-Slept in an Airport for 10 straight nights
-Slid along my chest down a bowling alley lane
-Pinched a full bowling set bit by bit on drunken nights...sorry!
-Been paid as an extra for mowing my lawn (it was accidental because it was my lawn and the crew thought it was intentional)
-Been abducted by aliens...nah just kidding! hehe :P
-Fallen through ice on a lake
-Driven into a river in Canada because my GPS was set to winter routes and the ice would have been frozen over
-Worked as a ranger
-Rode the worlds highest train journey in the Himalayas
