About Me

***To make it easy on both of us, please do not contact me until at least 7 days before you show up. I don't know what I'm doing a month ahead of time and I'm not going to commit to hosting someone weeks in advance.***

CURRENT MISSION

To meet random folks in random places.

ABOUT ME

I have a TV but no cable. All of my music is on an iPod. I read a lot of dry history books. Most of my time is spent under artificial light in a library. I like referring to Canada as the Northern United States. I believe traveling is an amazing way to put your own life in perspective. I tend to give all of my actions sound effects. And I like to pick fights with pigeons.

PHILOSOPHY

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. - Mark Twain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since going back to school I've done more hosting than surfing. If I have the time I love meeting with fellow CSers and showing them around Memphis, which includes the sights and history lessons.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All around positive. I started using it to meet people when backpacking around Europe. From there I went to surfing, then hosting. From a road trip around Iceland to fast breaking in Istanbul, I've loved every single experience so far.
