About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn lot of things from people I meet.

ABOUT ME

http://instagram.com/cape_race

I am a very open-minded boy. I like to learn lot of things about life. It concerns both people I meet and my own experiences when I travel or just living my down-to-earth life.
When I was in an ashram in India, I learnt to like people before any snap judgement. I am also sensitive to teasings: we all have to respect people for what they are, no matter if they have some impairments. The ashram was for me a kind of clarification about the real goals of our lives. In a society where so many people withdraw into themselves, self-centred, a bit narrow-minded, it is important to reopen the dialogues between people, to broadcast friendship, brotherhood, "love", and above all to listen the others.

PHILOSOPHY

I live each day as it comes: I think we can loose everything in one go. I almost never organize things or parties for months, that's a waste of time. I prefer to be surprised by what could happen. Planning might be necessary but most of the time, that is useless.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing gave me the opportunity to meet people. That system made me be hosted in Colombia, Turkey and India: wonderful experiences. People I met helped me when I was feeling alone.
Giving you a concrete example: when I was in Mumbai, the first day I arrived was quite perturbing. I felt completely lost, there was a gap between my own culture and the reality of India. I was hosted the evening by someone who made me more confortable. I felt much more relaxed. And that would probably not have happened in an hotel where I would have been still alone. Couchsurfing is not only a way for people to travel more cheaper, that is above all a way to meet the others, a way to be helped and supported in bad moments or to share good things in most of cases.

Interests

I am really multifaceted and all-rounder. I can adapt myself to lot of situations. That is why I feel so easy in punk festivals and solemn in some formal ceremonies. Thought neither I am an huge fan of punk movement nor member of high society. I can be very contradictory and paradoxical. I am dreaming about having a never-ending library with ebony facings, but in another hand I easily imagine myself living in some J.Harrison novel. Maybe my personnality mixes all my different aspects.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to read, even if I do not really take the time for doing stuff like this. Such a pity, I know. I read above all historical books concerning Antiquity (mostly Ancient Greece), or the two last centuries. I do love books from Cooper, de Musset, Verne, Blixen, Allende, Duras...

Concerning music, I listen all sorts of musics. In the same way we don't feel the same when we go to bed from when we wake up, I don't have the same desires all the day long. I can listen pop the morning, jazz the evening and classical music at night. My fondness goes for musics especially created for movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I haven't done extraordinaries things in my life, but I keep a special memory from my trip in Colombia. Walking during many hours in the jungle was both thrilling and stressful, especially when we are lost.
Another thing I did was to go in India alone. There, an incredible thing for me was to travel during 40 hours in a train, sleeping uncomfortably in such peculiar conditions. Travelling is also that: being in some strange places and asking ourself what you are doing here. Good memories anyway.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach French or even Akkadian bases. And I would enjoy learning some new languages or improve the ones I know.

I write, sometimes. I like debates, culture, speaking and learning about what the others know.

I don't pretend teach anybody History as a perfect erudicte, but let's try it!

Maybe, the best thing I can offer is to share or mutual experiences about life, trips, guidances, culture, etc.
