ABOUT ME

Nice to meet you! I'm an educator by day, and a musician, photographer, tattooer by night. I try to travel with my wife and baby every chance we can. These days, being a husband and father, hosting has become much less convenient than before, but I'm always happy to take people around and give them a glimpse of local life - away from the glitz and glamour of touristy spots and into the dark alleys and hidden buildings. If you're into photography I'll provide you with plenty of camera fodder. If you're into HK films I'll show you the staircase noodles scene from In the Mood for Love, or where Faye Wong made kebabs in Chungking Express. If you need help getting around, with cheap accommodation, with food, with transport... basically anything to make the most of your time in HK... I'll be happy to be of help in any way.I teach in a school so generally my best times to take people around are after 4 in the afternoon and on weekends. Unfortunately because I work in a school, it also means I try to be home by midnight during the week.Having lived in four different continents and on both sides of the equator, as well as having spent numerous months on the road in South East Asia, North America and Western Europe, I understand the importance and joy that comes through meeting locals and being a part of their lives. Through this I hope I can offer you a window into the lives of ordinary Hong Kong folks.

PHILOSOPHY

Never give up chasing after your dreams!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My hosting days have slowed down a lot since becoming a husband, and especially a father. However, I still do take immense pleasure in meeting up with independent travelers and showing them a more genuine and down to earth side to life in HK, and am more than happy to help out with visas, directions, accommodations, food, shopping, sightseeing, etc

Interests
