About Me

CURRENT MISSION

George's Mantra -- Love those in your life. Belong to yourself. Be what you are. Crush Life!

ABOUT ME

Who am I?

Well a quick history then. I was born in Wheeling, WV. An awesome city on the Ohio River. I grew up on the outskirts where I played in creeks and ran around barefoot. Then my family moved to Pittsburgh, PA where I excelled as a student-athlete. That all led me to Davidson, NC to play football and major in Economics at Davidson College. I spent a year as an Investment Banker before I traveled around the country. Now I work at a tech startup. Many fortunes won and lost. Many friends won and lost. Many loves won and lost. It has been a hell of a journey so far.

A different approach to Who I am:
Someone close to me once asked, "What kind of natural feature would you be?" My friends often answered mountain. Because I am tall, strong, confident and stand against the wind and as tough as iron. A mountain is prideful. Haha, that is a good answer. But I think of myself more as a river. A river is strong, it is ever changing, it is low, and brings life. The River is the heart of a people. A river is humble. So trying to change myself from a mountain to a river!

That describes a little bit about me. Look below for more details. Ask me anything you would like.

PHILOSOPHY
{The old philosophy section of the profile is gone I guess.}
Like my mantra says, I love those in my life. People make this life worth living. We can learn and grow so much from each other.
I strive to be the best version of myself and have dedicated my work to a cause larger to myself, to creating a world where people can be the best versions of themselves.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies:
Haven't watched too many movies lately. Been busy elsewhere.

Music:
Jazz, Blues, Classical and Classic Rock are my favorite Genres. I cycle those throughout the day pretty regularly.

If I have to get some serious work done, I make sure I put folk music on in a different level, puts me in a trance like state to get some serious work done.

Books:
Books are my favorite form of Entertainment listed here. There is no limit to what I read. Lately been reading a lot of works on Psychology, Mythology, Philosophy and Business. But I never turn down a good story book either.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have climbed to the top of Pike's Peak, using my bare hands as ice picks.

I have climbed to the bottom of the canyon to swim in the colorado river and hiked back out, all in one day, which the signs warn is fatal. And helped cheat death twice (but not my own).

Watched the sun go down behind the Golden Gate Bridge across the Bay from San Francisco, that was pretty.

I have loved deeply.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach:
Dance!
Philosophy and Psychology
Principles and Theories of Economics
How to Build an Exercise Program
About life as an Investment banker (not fun)
The NLPs -- 1. Natural Language Processing or 2. Neuro Linguistic Programming

I would like to learn:
More dance!
Languages, any of them, teach me some new words!
More woodworking skills
More car mechanic skills

Share:
Passion for life, passion for stories, passion for new experiences.
