About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Everything I thought it would, is nothing like it really is.

ABOUT ME

Alright, I think that most of the couchsurfers are open-minded, like to travel, get to know new people from all around the world and all that stuff...

Me too.

I'm studying mathematics and economy and I like it most of the time but I would also like to study french, german, psychology, medicine, chemistry and physics... I'm interested in many things.
I would love to play an instrument or to have read a lot of books.
I can be very calm and thoughtful, but I like to party, to dance although this might not be one of my strengths...
I like to be prepared but I like spontaneous actions, too.
Oh yeah, and I like those dots
. . .

PHILOSOPHY

Fantasies have to be unrealistic. Because the minute - the second - that you get what you want, you don't - you can't - want it anymore.
Living by wants will never make you happy. What it means to be fully human is to strive to live by ideals and ideals, and not to measure your life by what you've attained in terms of your desires, but those small moments of integrity, compassion, rationality, even self-sacrifice. Because in the end, the only way that we can measure the signifigance of our own lives is by valuing the lives of others.
(Extract from the film 'The Life Of David Gale')

Rester, c'est exister
voyager, c'est vivre.
(Gustave Nadaud)

Le bonheur est connu pour ses états de manque.
(Romain Gary)

Manchmal suchen wir so lange den Schlüssel zum Glück, bis wir entdecken, dass er steckt.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was doing couchsurfing for the first time, I was really surprised - like everyone I guess. I was couchsurfing in Québec-City when I read this painted on the wall:
Rester, c'est exister
voyager, c'est vivre.

Since, I am member of CS. A great evening (my 21st birthday) was a CS-meeting when almost 200 CSers faked a wedding to have a pretext for a pub crawl in suites and dresses.
I was couchsurfing in Montréal and in Québec-City, I was participating to some events in Berlin and I hosted some good people in Berlin.
Two years later I went to Montréal again, this time for studying, and during the first days, when I didn't have a flat, I was hosted by very cool CSers who I'm still in contact with. I was surfing in Quebec-City again, in NYC, in Chicago and in NYC again and it was all very funny!
Now I'm back to Berlin and I'd like to give back some of the hospitality I was almost "confronted" with ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was working as "animator" and carer at a retirement home in France for one year which was an amazing experience. I had all the time I want (since I wasn't a real employee) so I really got to know the pensioners, spoke with them, did gymnastics, card games, memory games, reading out loud...

Another really impressive thing was a whale watching tour in the north of Québec in Oct 2011. A whale even was facing us until it submerged exactly in front of our boat - you could've touched it...

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to teach and I am very self-critical, even perfectionist - and sometimes I expect the same from others.
I like to teach, learn, share german, french and english, as I think at least two of them are wonderful languages.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, Spain, United States
