About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn Italian. Visit Iran. Ski more. Eat less gelato. Learn butterfly pull up! (possible if I eat less gelato).

ABOUT ME

I a€™m a little bit of a space cadet, float around in my own little bubble most of the time though when I do come out and play I am quite a social butterfly. I didn't use to drink...and then moved to Italy. I now drink a bit of wine - especially on Friday! I regularly bust out the ridiculously terrible dance wobbles; I am full of poise and grace and standing at almost 6'1'€™ everyone can see my (lack of) elegance.

I am very fortunate to have been sponsored to work and live in Italy which is where I am currently teaching.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't waste your time with people who don't like you. There will be many. There are just as many who love you and make your world a nicer place. Enjoy it with them.

And,
Days disintegrate- do those things that you will 'one day' do now!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I chat, laugh, don't cook, cry, possibly dribble on your couch..honestly what more could you possibly want? I've surfed a few couches now and can honestly say CS has been the most wonderful part of my travelling adventures.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

2009 I spent 3 months venturing around The States. It was without a doubt one of the most memorable experiences. I had some AmAzInG hosts who made that experience the time of my life; their help and generosity was truly a lovely thing to witness.

I feel in love with a Turkish and Portugese man (thankfully not at the same time) and have met some of my dearest friends here on CS.

When living in London I've surfed other places around Europe and have continued to meet some wonderful people.

Interests

I'm interested in people and the bizarre things they do. Why a woman would curl her eyelashes with a teaspoon while on the tube is beyond me.
I like people watching.

I also like ...music, sport, Crossfit, 'dancing' (I'm sure others don't think I am dancing but I am!), discussing virtues and ethics (why not throw something odd in there?), icecream, going to the park, swinging on the swings, laughing until I cry (often caused from my own stupidity), talking really fast, watching people fall over (clumsiness, for the observer, is a joyful thing), procrastinating (I'm very good at this), going for a run when I'm not in the best of moods, singing my own favourite lyrics (I regularly get informed that I am singing the wrong words).

I equally don't like a lot of stuff; funnily enough there isn't a box to mention that stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't read a lot other then large storybooks to my kidlets at school, favourite would have to be 'Who sank the boat?'...my kids get far too enthusiastic when they think a donkey actually sits in a boat (bless them).
I do not have a TV and I fidget too much to go to the movies.

Music is often my saving grace. Indie folk or Spain/Portugese pop which I can't understand a word of is my favourite but I enjoy bopping along to pretty much anything.
I have a bit of a crush on Andrea Bocelli too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have travelled to a few countries so have seen some pretty remarkable things, pinpointing a favourite is a hard task though Ankor Watt in Cambodia, the Okavango Delta in Bostwana, Pyramids in Egypt, and the Big Apple are a few.
I was once in love with London...even getting trompled on in the tube is fun, it's a bit like an unexpected moshpit.

Recently went on a BALLOON in CAPPADOCIA! I'm going again!

I haven't really done anything amazing, when I have a baby I will update my page.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a teacher so I teach a lot of things (how to hold a tissue so snot doesn't drip down your arm and the importance of using 2 hands when trying to pull up your pants are priorities at the moment- my class are 3 year olds). One of my fears with this profession is that I can not keep up with the active minds of the little but extremely resilient children I teach. Equally, this is one of the greatest rewards from the career as I will continue to grow and learn from my students.

I'm a single child so have not really grasped the concept of sharing; if there is a big piece of cake in the fridge it was put there for me...wasn't it?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully decent conversation and sweet memories!
