About Me

My goal is to leave the country every calendar year, and I'm going strong since 2005. Recently, I've also been more interested in exploring the beautiful U.S.!

Music, travel, people, and languages are my great passions in life. I'm a total Francophile; I lived in Paris for 4 years and I want to go back! I love French but I also hope to learn as many languages as possible. My brother lives in Turkey and I try to visit every year. I am idealistic and I try to do my little part to make the world a better place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I moved to France in 2008-2009, I did a lot of hosting and some surfing. It was great fun. I moved back to the U.S. and got caught up in school and work, but I'd love to get back into both surfing and hosting. I surfed a bit on a U.S. roadtrip in 2015.

Movies: Comedy, action, horror, documentaries. Anything but chick flicks, and occasionally even chick flicks.

Books: Siddhartha, The Giver, The Trial, Harry Potter, Sensitive, The Satanic Verses

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteer teaching English in Bosnia and Herzegovina in summer 2006. It set me on the path to my career, and I hope I did some good while I was there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach English as a second language, so that's my most useful skill! We could practice French together, too.

I'd love to learn more of your language too, whatever it may be. I'm especially interested in the history of and relationships between languages.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My knowledge of English, French, and linguistics; travel stories; indie music recommendations
