About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Quantum leaps into everything and nothing.

ABOUT ME

Personal Description? Right. Here's a start...I'm fairly new to couch surfing, but not to travel. CS is a powerful concept opening the doors to the global village in authentic, unique and deeply meaningful ways. I've been on the road away from home for about 7 years working and traveling. I think I've learned a bit - beginning with an acuity for each moment. I tend to focus my travel on gaining knowledge and insight into the key issues of energy and water resources across the planet, along with all the other great stuff that comes with life on the road. But really, how we address these basic yet profound natural resource concerns will dictate what kind of future we will all share. My advice...get out there now and see the planet...you (and it) will never be the same again.

PHILOSOPHY

Embrace impermanence.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The CS experience is invaluable because one gains far greater access to the best of humanity in all its diversity than a typical (and expensive) canned tourist experience. This is the essence of CS, really. Now in American Samoa and would be happy to host with proper notice and coordination to meet other local and international travelers (free-loading, tourist-type, bed-seekers don't even bother asking) for some spirited conversation, hospitality, action and adventure in the mountains and bays, and general good fun.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed yet never hosted.

Interests

Reading, writing, music (live!), hiking, biking (streets and mountains), filmmaking, backpacking, mountaineering, climbing, travel, SCUBA, architecture, tasty food, strong drink, paradigm shifts, direct action, modern physics, god concepts (everything is nothing is everything), but most importantly, I am interested in nice people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Comedies - I nearly piss myself when I watch When Nature Calls; Docos - the Elegant Universe; Action/Drama/SciFi - Blade Runner, the Matrix saga; Non-fiction print stuff mostly, of recent note (to me) are God and the New Physics, 2012 and the Return of Quetzlcoatl, and the essential One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest; All kinds of music, but a soft spot for jazz, jam bands and rock, plus the dance beats (i can't) - any DJ, trance, afro pop...whatever - its all good!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Staring at a hammerhead shark circling overhead with its eyes focused squarely on my frail, diminutive figure despite being adorned with SCUBA gear. Close. LARGE. Memorable. And...

Teach, Learn, Share

Environmental and energy topics I tend to understand well and could share, and some other stuff...but could someone please explain our similarity to dolphins?
