About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I would like to host couchsurfers, and meet new people.

ABOUT ME

Please see my interests section below. I guess I am a little like a Hippie "Paul Blart". =:)

PHILOSOPHY

Contribute when you can, and contribute THE BEST that you can. Try your best.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently a host, and may aspire to be a traveler one day.

I try to post at least a couple of events a year and invite other CSer's to join me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CS has been great! I am interested in socialization, and cultural exchange, and like to have guests.

I am happy to say that my CS experiences have all been of the highest quality! All of our guests have treated us as people, and not as a couch.

However, like so much in life, I strive to use this project more! Like my brain, I guess I only use about 1% of the potential.

Interests

Outdoor activities, Gardening, Biking, Hiking, Motorcycling, Canoing, Rock hounding (thats digging fossils and minerals), Pen-pals, Art, History, Public spaces, Museums.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy indie, and non-Hollywood films, but am opportunistic, I will watch just about anything.

I enjoy all kinds of books and magazines, and try to read one a month.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once saw a social congregation of ~100 wild turkeys.

These turkeys were arranged in a concentric group, sort of a semi-circle, with the opening in the group facing the road, along a field access road.

On the fringes of the group were yearling hens, and some small scrawny Jakes. Most of the group were these young turkeys on the fringe, three or four dozen.

Inside the fringe, there were larger Hens, and inside this ring were larger Jakes.

The next ring was a solid mass of an outer layer of older hens, mixed with older males, all good size, healthy wild turkeys. The inner ring of this mass was mainly males, but there were several females also.

Inside the solid mass ring were this inner core of some really large Bosses, maybe a dozen or so, and they were all surrounding this one Big Boss.

The Big Boss was strutting and displaying, and maybe three times bigger than the biggest one around him.

Every single one of those Turkeys was looking at the Big Boss. The bodies may have been turned away, but the heads were all turned so the peripheral vision was intent on watching the Big Boss.

It was quite a sight. If I had caught a picture of them it would have been most prized!
