About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Sept 2023 - I quit my job and now traveling Europe for 2 months. Currently in Iceland and looking to travel to 8 counties during my trip. 💖✈️

To make the most out of life and to meet amazing people along the way! ** Explore and Inspire ** I have been blessed by the wonderful people I have met ---- they have helped me, greatly influenced me and make me strive to be the person I am meant to be.

ABOUT ME
I am always looking for my next adventure - daydreaming about it or actively planning it. Love learning about other cultures and people of all backgrounds. To learn more about life - the different ideas, lifestyles, etc. - allows one to appreciate and understand life even more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I travel, CS is the first thing I look into in terms of finding places to stay. I love staying with locals and making new friends and connections. I have made many lifelong friends through CS and fantastic memories, whether it was through staying with a host or attending a CS event. For me, traveling is more about just seeing the sights and highlights of certain places --- but to feel as though you are part of the community, connected, and simply exploring what is around you.

I have surfed in Austria, Lithuania, Ireland, Scotland, England, Iceland, Sweden, and Florida, USA.

I have also gone to CS meetings in Rome, Berlin, Denmark, and Austria. I have met some amazing people and lifelong friends!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First time with CS was in 2011, staying with a lovely family in Salzburg, Austria. I was amazed at how someone would welcome me as though I was like family yet had never met me before.

Interests

This will be random. ;)

I love:
music, culture and language, historical buildings, animals/pets, trying new food, arts and crafts, inspirational quotes, the woods/trees, the smell of spring and rain, coffee, sustainability, gardening, volunteering .... and many other things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: A bit of everything.... The XX, Rammstein, Counting Crows, Alice in Chains, Meiko, Spice Girls, Tool, A Perfect Circle, and more!

As for books - I love reading ones about life or inspiration. Non-fiction is something I love to read as well, to use as a source to gather more information about the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

~ Living with a host family in Germany for three weeks while in high school. This was my first time abroad and it really inspired me to travel more! I still keep in contact with friends that I met during that first stay.

~ Being an Au Pair in Berlin, Germany for a year. So many AMAZING memories and friends.

~Skydiving in Byron Bay, Australia has been a highlight. :)

~Traveling Europe in 2015-2016. I met SO amazing people with big hearts and made lifelong friends. Had so many unbelievable experiences from living with locals to exploring nature and new food.

~ Being in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Minnesota. I have never felt so relaxed and I was really able to connect to nature during a 5 day trip. Time was not an issue, the stars in the night sky were breathtaking, and I loved just being surrounded by nature and no technology and worries.

~ Traveling in general ---- I have met so many amazing people and seen SO many wonderful things. I have grown so much because of the experience and cannot wait to get on a plane again!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have some knowledge about places to eat and visit around the Minneapolis/St. Paul area along with some other areas in Minnesota, especially in Northern Minnesota like Duluth, Ely and around Virginia. I am very into music and love to learn about new bands/songs, go to concerts and have other people listen to bands/songs they have not heard before. I am into crafts and love making things - one thing I am into is making jewelry, drawing, scrapbooking, etc.

I can also share my experiences studying abroad in Australia, being an Au Pair in Germany, and traveling throughout Europe.

If anyone is interested in a career as a Naturalist, I would love to help out by connecting you with some professionals in the field and/or answering any questions that you might have. I have a degree in Conservation Biology and a minor in Forestry.

I am very interested in talking with others about their travel and life experiences!
