ABOUT ME

Hi I'm Bert, People say I'm peaceful and calm, but then again I can be a bit talkative sometimes. I love meeting new people because every single one has his/her own story and way of looking at the world. I'm trying to be open-minded and trying to keep on questioning my own perspectives. Other things: I'm In love with circus and theater, vegetarian, friendly, enjoying life and respecting People & Planet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I been surfing, hosting and been to a bunch of nice meetings and activities in Belgium. Since last year (October 2014) I've lived in Armilla, a village next to Granada. There I've met great people but haven't een to meetings or hosted anyone. Right now I'm doing my last year in a school for Circus- and Theater-arts near Granada. There is little to no time outside the school so I can offer a sleeping place and information, but i don't have much time to show you around Granada. At the start of June I'm leaving Spain to travel and train handbalancing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started using my profile actively around 2012. I've met a bunch people In Kortrijk, Ghent and Brussels. I've visited Denmark a few times and I had an amazing time there. I've lived in Brussels for a year and hosted a bunch of people which was great, because I got to explore the city together with them. I'm always looking forward to meet new people from all over the world. It's always interesting to hear new stories and perspectives. It a pity I haven't made time in the last year and a half because of the intensive arts-education, but I'm sure I'll be able to travel more again in the summer or if I have to tour around Europe to do performances.

Indoor climbing, lots of music (lots of different genres), percussion, nature, health, vegetarian food, coffee, thee and others that don't pop up in my mind ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

*If there is time and material I can always learn you the circus-arts I know like juggling, aerials, poi or a bit of acrobatics (except things with big fire, since I don't want people to get hurt)
*I can teach Dutch and basic French or Spanish
*I really like vegetarian or vegan cooking (like to learn much more about good vegan dishes)
*Since it's my specialisation in the school I'm in I can teach the beginning principals of hand-balancing (handstands)
In general I love to learn all kind of new things.
