I am an urban planner and sustainable urban development enthusiast, especially interested in sustainable transportation, walking, cycling, and environmental issues in urban planning.

I am currently taking a break from working life in Canada to study Mandarin Chinese and travel in Taiwan and Asia with my partner.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been a member of Couchsurfing since January 2010. I couchsurfed a lot between 2010 and 2014, but then started a Master's degree and working life, so I started to travel less. In 2019, I moved to Taiwan with my partner to study Mandarin Chinese. We will be living in Taiwan and traveling in Asia for most of 2020 and 2021.

I have had only positive and memorable experiences couchsurfing. I have met great people and have had the chance to get to know places in ways that are not possible when staying in a hostel, hotel or with airbnb. I'm still in touch with many of the people I met couchsurfing several years ago, and I look forward to meeting new people on this trip.

I'm learning Chinese and love practicing my German (Ich habe in Österreich gewohnt!).
