HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love my home town Barcelona, and I'll glad to show you around my favorite places, that gives me the chance of discovering my old city through a new-eye filter!

As I love travel and meet different people and know different style of life couchsurfing seemed to be an excelent way to do it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Fantastic, at the old times.

Everything started when in London, I met a lovely girl and she showed me lovely places there!

Afterwards in BCN, I met 4 norwegian ladys, I was very happy taking them around some of my favourite places, one of them Kristin was my first guest and nowadays she is a close friend.

I met three nice berliner people (Ulli and Gabi and her mate ) in Barcelona in diferents ocasions , and we have a good time arround my city. Then I visited them with a friend in Berlin, with Ulli we went to an wonderful concert, and Gabi invited us to a very nice dinner in her house..

I used to attend sometimes to BCN CS free culture group meeting, to go interesting free culture activities. I met my friend Jaime from this group.

I visited Norge in summer, and I surfered Kristin's house, and we travelled together along west Norge, surfing relatives and friends's homes, it was a formidable time! Afterwards, most of them have been in BCN

I visited Norge in February, in a hunting Northern light expedition with Kristin and Ellen my Norwigian friends who took care of me. Despite, I didn't find the shy Aurora, .I can say I got wonderful friends in Norge ( thanks to CS) . And I visited them in different occasions, and I took some Catalan good friends to show them that dazzling country... and Kristin, I and some of my good friends plan a yearly ladies' trip together.

I hosted Dominika and Patricia for 4 days, two lovelys Erasmus Polan girls.

I met Jane and Richard a really nice couple from Australia... And Megan stayed at home.

I hosted a lot of really nice people in summer, Maris and Ann from Tellin who sang for me and my son ( in that time I didn't know how important was for Letonian people the songs) , the actress and excelent cook Adèle from Montpellier, Megan from Australia, Agata and Jessica from Poland, Mieke and Willy from Anvers, and Katka from Czesk Republic.

I surfed in England in summer, finding really nice hosts there: Ubaid from Oxford, Pandora and her nice big family from Oxford, Alma, Mark and Kathy from Wallingford, Sylvie, Eric, Alois and Axel in Churchill in Cotswolds.

And also I got be adopted by my mon Terry from San Diego, who spent only a night at home.

I can't write all the names of all my guests, because I hosted a lot of nice people at home and I showed many others around my city. Someone of them left some words in my guest book and most of them some deep footprints in my heart.

CStearling the nice Chinais lady from Indonesia, clever, hardworker and with a witti sense of humor.

Brigitte , Adele's mother, adventurous lady living in Cevennes, who spent some days at home, making off her solo trip to South America and I visited her in her lovely isolated house, having a healthy relax time there. We got along easily and are good friends.

Jens, my good and generous friend German from Zurich, polyglot, expert in art, cinema and Julio Medem's films who we shared some enjoyables exhibitions and some tapas.

Gerrit, my thoughful friend from Norway, who speaks English, Spanish and Chinese and tried to undestand our non so easy Catalan politic situation.

Shyril, the kind lady from NYC who took my around her amazing city, when she just landed two days fron Europe and HC had lost the election.

I loved that CS used to be...... it can sound a little bit nostalgic, I know

...... at present , things here aren't so warm than before. I don't like the new system of looking for hosts, because is quite impersonal.

Lately, I’m less active here, so sorry if I don’t replay promtply your message or I don’t replay at all unpersonal or almost empty messages. And I don’t accept friendship requests if we haven’t meet first.
Big hug everyone and see you soon in Barcelona or around the world.

Teaching??? English for sure! you should have realised it! :-))))

( I'm always learning English! No big succes)

... and I'd love to learn a lot of different things as astronomic science or phisics or photography or geography, I'm a very curious person

I can speak (and teach a little) Spanish or Catalan with my guests or hosts, explain something about our political situation from my point of view and show you around Barcelona if you like it, I love my city, and I enjoy exploring it!

I know some things about computers and networks technology, but if you aren't in very need of it, it I'd prefer not to talk about it, it's job and here it's a holiday place :-)
