About Me

I'm back at ranch for a while, living in my parents basement. Next spring I will go treeplanting again and I bought a little camping trailer and I want to deck it out so I can hit up some raves in class and comfort. Also I would like to get a bicycle and a canoe and maybe a fishing rod to take camping with me.

ABOUT ME

I am a fairly easy going fellow, content to be myself. For the past 9 years I have worked as a tree-planter in the mountains of British Columbia, traveling a lot in the winter months. I moved into Revelstoke on a whim and I'm staying here for a while. I could spend my whole life exploring BC and never get bored.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm happy just because I've found out I'm really no one.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I've surfed a few couches on the West coast of America, Mexico, New Zealand and Australia. Friendships ensued. I'd really like to host, but I guess I move around too much.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent a week couchsurfing in the greater Seattle area. I had very positive experiences amongst 3 separate hosts. Some activities I participated in with my hosts included a Blues dancing party, dumpster diving, and chillin playing Mario party. Before I discovered couchsurfing I stayed with some folks in New Waterford, Cape Breton Island, for a couple of months. Helping with social activism projects-promoting community gardening and hosting a small film festival. I also went WWOOFing for about a month on a small organic farm in British Columbia's Okanagan. I slept on thier couch, ate thier food, and enjoyed thier company in exchange for milking thier goats, patching up thier greenhouses, feeding thier chickens ect.

Interests

I love music; to listen, to sing, to play and to dance.
I have taken my education into my own hands- reading extensively and practicing my skills. I enjoy cooking and eating vegetarian food-with a focus on balanced nutrition. I am in the early stages of exploring and spirituality through yoga and meditation. Ecology, permaculture, intentional community, massage, sustainable travel, wilderness survival also fall within my circle of interest.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite bands are John Butler Trio, Mother Mother, Pretty Lights, Emancipator, The Glitch Mob, Parov Stelar, Xavier Rudd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bright Eyes, Modest Mouse...this could go on and on.
My favorite books include Eastern Body, Western Mind by Anodea Judith, Light on Life by B.K.S. Iyengar, The Island by Aldous Huxley, Survivor by Chuck Palnihuk, The Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman, Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins, Cats Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled over 10,000 km by bicycle during two separate trips. One through Canada, down westcoast USA and through mexico to Cabo San Lucas. The other around New Zealand. So much freedom.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm proficient with the guitar, although I need to learn how to teach better. I'm presently trying to learn about bicycle maintenance. I can speak basic Spanish, and would be eager to practice. I also want to learn how to make the perfect samosa.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can sing songs, fix bikes and cook tasty vegetarian food when the inspiration strikes.
