ABOUT ME

I'm English, 31, just got back from a year of backpacking around Asia and the Middle East, and about to set off again on a new adventure - living in Barcelona :) I was born in Yorkshire, grew up in Cyprus and then lived in Cambridge UK till I quit everything and set off on my travels. The scariest and best thing I ever did!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I've couchsurfed in Japan, Armenia and Iran... all of which have been highlights of my travels. My only regret is that I didn't couchsurf more... I will definitely be putting that right on my next trip! When I finally find somewhere to live for more than a few weeks, I'm looking forward to hosting couchsurfers whenever I can.

Interests

Almost everything, especially travelling, languages, eating, meeting new people. I love all sports, with my favourites being windsurfing and snowboarding.

Guitar music - especially acoustic (Dave Matthews Live at Luther College - possibly my favourite album)
Classic rock - The Doors, Led Zep, Bowie
Classical and opera - for the occasional culture fix.
Movies - Studio Ghibli films are brilliant. Old black and white WW2 movies. Movies about real people and real events - e.g. Man on Wire, Gandhi, .
Books - The Famous Five (when I was a kid), Atlas Shrugged, Northern Lights, My Experiments with the Truth...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saved my cat's life after everybody else gave up on her!
