About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Help my dad finnish fixing up his house in Buenos Aires and enjoy the city

ABOUT ME

I'll start with two videos my friends and I made:
Medellin es una chimba pero no somos monos: This is a video my friend David and I made when I was in Medellin. It was a response to how they call people with light skin/hair "mono" in Medellin and basically an excuse for us to talk to random people on the street and have a good laugh while we enjoyed Medellin (by the way I would definitely recommend this city to anybody...the people were AMAZINGLY friendly and we had a great time): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9sWkr9PiYM

Here is another video my friends and I made for our trip last year to Mexico City and beyond: http://blip.tv/file/1998614/

I'm pretty well traveled and feel very comfortable in Latin America. I love dancing, listening to music (I'm really into music and have pretty ecclectic tastes from hip hop to jazz to classical, Brazilian music (samba, forro, mangue beat, you name it), salsa, cumbia, nueva cancion, house music, a bunch of stuff from Africa (recently I've been digging on Kuduro from Angola and Funana from Cape Verde and of course Coupé Decalé from West Africa)...ummm this can go on for ever...I like politics and history and am a lover of exploration.

I grew up between California and Tennessee where my mom currently lives on The Farm, what was once the largest hippie commune in the United States. You can read an article written by Vanity Fair about us here: http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2007/05/thefarm200705

I live in New York City and I love it here even though the winter is real difficult for me. I'm from California and I carry it with me although I haven't lived there in a while. I love exploring New York, finding new spaces, new parks, and new places to go dancing or eat. While I love the city, I'm also a country boy at heart. My mom lives in the country and whenever I go visit her in the summer I go straight to her garden. I love eating fresh veggies just picked from the garden. I was raised a vegetarian and it still means something to me, but I eat everything (and yes I do enjoy an Argentinian steak).
