About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see and do as many things as possible, meet lots of interesting people and make lots of happy memories along the way!

ABOUT ME

I am a Scottish girl working as a private jet flight attendant in Sydney and live with my partner Daniele. Long story short, we moved to Australia together on a whim soon after we met in Beijing. We are both long term members of couchsurfing and have both met incredible people and long life friends though it. In fact we are selves met through couchsurfing!

We have had some amazing adventures including being caught at an active volcano in Indonesia, climbing the great wall in China, milking cows in the Australian country side and sky diving in wollongong.

We have recently taken up acro yoga which we love and would be happy to share this new passion with a fellow couchsurfer! :)

PHILOSOPHY

There is no meaning to be found in the world beyond what meaning we give to it

Music, Movies, and Books

1. George Orwell, 1984, so scary, I highly recommend it
2. Yan Lianke, Ding Village, this is the book I did my dissertation on. Its about the blood scandal in China during the 90s where many people contracted HIV through selling their blood.
3. Markus Zusak, The book thief, beautifully written.
4. Philip Pullman, Dark materials Trilogy, the books of my childhood.
5. The beach, Alex Garland
6. Lezley Hazleton, The first Muslim, A genuine attempt to try to understand the human experience Muhammad went through.
7. The satanic verses, also inspired in part by the life of Muhammad but set in modern day and is told through magical realism. Kind of difficult to get into without much knowledge of Islam but good if you want to challenge yourself
8. A thousand splendid suns, I think I read this in like 2 days, I couldn’t stop reading it
9. Ian rankin, Hide and seek, set in good old Edinburgh. Needed to have a Scottish author in here
10. Hannah B Higgins, The grid book, explains how grids are powerful frameworks that have transformed society and culture. This one was recommended to me by my boyfriend who is a graphic designer. It was a book I probably wouldn’t have read otherwise but it was actually very interesting and once you read it you will never look at a brick in the same way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

met kieth from the prodigy at work! it was a huge blessing in disguise as i had been at a festival the prior 2 days but had to miss them peform because i was working the early flight the next day..and then as i arrive home i see them all in the departure lounge and didn't miss my opportunity to have a little chat and get an autograph..that memory will stay with me forever! and made me realise that if things don't go the way you planned.. persevere and there may be a blessing in disguise waiting for you! :)

went bunjee jumping last week on a at a suspiciously cheap place in china! amazing
