About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy and explore the world with the people I meet!

ABOUT ME

I want to have fun whilst searching to learn and discover more about the way the world works. I think it's incredible how much you can learn from the different ways people consider the worlds they live in!

I'm ridiculously easygoing. There really isn't much I won't put up with or smile about. I am happiest being around people, although I guess I'm sometimes kind of pensive...in a good contemplative-conversation-inducing way c:

I'd also like to think I'm fairly adventurous, and as a result I'll give anything a go at least once!

PHILOSOPHY
"Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. Everybody’s gonna die.... haha :) "

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I host when I have a home... and share as much as I can when I'm abroad! I signed up to the CS Project more than 10 years ago because I love more than anything to learn about other peoples' thoughts, ideas and views of the world. And because I believe the best music and adventures are had with the locals... :) :) :) So far I've hosted a few couchsurfers at home and couchsurfed a fair bit myself...it's been great! It is inspiring to meet so many beautiful people! I so love having people round!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies? I prefer films that catch my mind or make me grin, and have a good `look´... otherwise I don't have the attention span ha! In the Mood for Love, Beasts of the Southern Wild, La Dolce Vita, Café de Flore, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Limits of Control, La Via è Bella, Persepolis, Trainspotting, The Holy Mountain, and The Grand Budapest Hotel are some favourites off the top of my head.
Think Jim Jarmusch, Wes Anderson, Edgar Wright, Wong Kar-wai, Roberto Benigni, Michel Gondry, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Stanley Kubrick, Federico Fellini, Shohei Imamura... Hayao Miyazaki :)

Music ?! I LOVE music. I love music so so much. All sorts of music... please don't put me in a category! I have a capricious assortment of music passions, and a bad memory so you'll probably have to sing, to strum, 'souffler' ...

Books? I don't get a chance to get read books as often as I'd like but I dig autobiographies, books on natural science (particularly anything to do with plants or the weather), dystopic fantasies... Amongst my favourite authors sit Tim Winton, George Orwell, John Steinbeck, Margaret Atwood, John Irving, Roald Dahl and Aldous Huxley. I really like poetry too.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share all my knowledge about the plants we can eat.
I grew up in the ocean so I can teach you to swim or surf (I'm no Mick Fanning, but I've taught a few people now!)
I can teach you to read the clouds,
And forage.
Or I can teach you to slowly fold a paper crane (I'm working on my emu!)
Practise some yoga? Meditate...
Or play the violoncello? O cavaquinho? Let's make some music together!
I know you will teach me much more!!

I'm keen to share and learn just about anything... and I love languages...j'ai besoin de practiquer mon français! Or maybe 日本語を話しますか。¿Habla usted español? Italiano? Монгол хэл мэдэх үү? or a few jokes in English... :)
