PHILOSOPHY

This famous quote puts it perfectly:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately I cannot host at the moment as I live in a shared flat with only little space. But I am always up for a drink and can show you around if you like :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed several couches and met people to just hang out, have some drinks or go dancing. I like to exchange thoughts with different people and get to know other cultures.

Interests

I think it would be easier to list up the things that I am NOT interested in ;)

First of all, there's travelling (of course :) ). I like to meet different people and explore new countries or places. I like sightseeing tours to bigger cities as well as trekking / hiking / bicycle trips and enjoying nature. For me, the perfect holiday is a mixture of both. I dislike classic beach holiday, as I quickly get bored by it.

I also like sports - especially riding, swimming and inline skating - and meeting my friends (concerts, festivals, cinema, parties, shopping tours...).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I visited Sri Lanka shortly after the tsunami catastrophe.. this was the most impressing experience I had until now, as I got in touch with people who experienced this by themselves and let me participate in how they were feeling and how they were trying to cope with what happened and the losses (material loss as well as the loss of family members and close friends) they suffered. I was overwhelmed by the hospitality of these people, who had been deprived of everything they had, and who nevertheless were prepared to share all, that was left for them.

Teach, Learn, Share

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.” (Albert Einstein)
