About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Achieve Maximum Awesomeness

ABOUT ME

when I was younger they called me the Intern, I was the kid that helped out with everything, and learned a little from everyone around. I traveled from mentor to colleague, makerspace to infoshop, volunteering my ever growing expertise to whomever or whatever needed it. I set up shop in Atlanta for a while, rested my feet, tried my hand at some things. it's been a while, the south has proved less than comfortable, and my crew is moving on, I'm going with it.

I'm a cyberpunk looking for some narrative.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe there is sinister horror everywhere, the majority or people are horrible, everything is out to get you, and shit happens ALL the goddamn time. learn to accept it and roll with the punches, and you might live long enough to find shelter from it all in your own pirate utopia or intentional community. there are beautiful places and people out there on the horizon, just gotta live another day.

I live my life to learn and create, so I can help build and become part of a better future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm back to my Early days as a Traveler and Surfer, seeking a place to sleep, an experience to be had, fun times and good people to enjoy. back when I had a couch to spare I hosted like a madman, and when I have one next I'm sure it'll be no different

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I traveled around with the USPP crew for a while back in 09’, we crashed with people all over the midwest, staying anywhere from several days to just a few hours using their showers. the people we stayed with were some of the kindest most down to earth people I've been fortunate enough to meet. when the tour was done I went home to CA and had the opportunity to be a host myself, I treated my surfing guests to the plunders of my town’s dumpsters, the local sights and landscapes, and the company of my mob O’ Hooligans. those times were the best. unfortunately they were short lived, I regrouped with my touring Crew in ATL GA, where we operated a hostel and makerspace, infamously known as C7, catering first to the Rave and Burner scene, and then to the relentless hordes of Occupy ATL folks. we must have hosted more than a hundred individuals, barely a one of them Legit surfers. while I had the chance to meet, greet, and help out countless decent people, we also inadvertently invited thieves into our midst, completely without the recourse of CS’s feedback and Rep system. I learned a valuable lesson here, Couch Surfing keeps people honest and decent. for me and the crew it’s traveling time again and while I have no couch to offer now, when I do, surfers will always be welcome to it.

Interests

I spend a pretty good hunk of my time fixing and fabricating things, I really enjoy working with my hands, from more delicate activitites like drafting, stenciling, sewing, tending plants, and laptop repair, to more robust tasks like woodworking, welding, demolition, and auto repair. when not treating myself as an industrious tool, I enjoy relaxing into urban exploration, hiking, reckless media consumption, and reading.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m a fan of vaguely educational media and industrial p0rn like How it’s Made and Modern marvels, I keep up with a handful of current shows via the web. I wish I could say my Musical tastes were worth mentioning, but it’s mostly the heaped together interests of other people. as far as books go, I’m a big Sci-Fi fan, Sterling, Gibson, Stevenson, and Asimov to name a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen the profound impact a little hard work can make in the world. whether it's volunteering for a week to make a Regional Burn come together or helping out in the occupy circles, if you find something that needs done, and you do the hell out of it, you'll see the difference.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach: someone how to ride a skateboard, climb a building, make a stencil, fold an origami Frog or Balloon, make a ducttape wallet, tie some knots, and use the internet.
I'd like to learn anything you can teach me!
