About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to live life to the fullest. Unfortunately work has been getting in the way of late...

ABOUT ME

Love travel, not for the buildings and paintings but for the people. No matter how great a country or city, if the people are average, then so is the place.
It has been an amazing experience so far, many many places still to get to, and hope this will continue:-)

Fortunately I get to travel a bit for work, but unfortunately (as it is work) these travels don't enable me to meet many people (outside of work colleagues).

I love being a host to fun people who are considerate of others, and don't just see the 'couch' as way of traveling on the cheap.
I am still remember those days when I was new to town, and realize the importance of meeting up with the locals.

PHILOSOPHY

this is way too deep....for later...perhaps I will tell you over a drink.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can provide a couch to anyone. When i am in the country and not traveling myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting only at this stage. Its been good way of connecting with people traveling through.

Interests

Travel (who isn't?) and people. I am passionate about 'human behavior'. Especially in relation to one's interactions with others.

I am a firm believer of this. If you perceive someone to be boring, intelligent, interesting, full of energy etc this is also then a reflection of you, and perhaps of your interaction/engagement with that individual in that particular instance.
So in essence, no one can really be put into ONE box, that says they are boring, or interesting etc, I don't think. Because this 'could' also depend on who they were interacting with and the moment also.

Very similar to how well an artist does at a show. If they have a fantastic audience to work with, the performance reflects that i feel. Similarly I think we all feed off others, (vice versa) when we engage with them.

I love the interactions people have with others and why, how and what they do to engage.

Another thing I love seeing and especially when I am travelling is how the very people who do not have much in the form of material possessions live such simple lives. How content they are with life. A truly remarkable and challenging goal to get to one day.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love Reggae and it's calming influence. And anything else that puts people in a good mood.

A few of the best movies I have see. Eat Drink Man Woman, The Cube, Snatch, Lockstok and Two Smoking Barrels, Schindler's List, Ghandi and Up!

As for books, I am not much of a reader of fiction. But i loved 'The Andromeda Strain, Sophie's Life and love anything written by Patricia Cornwell.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trying to see the beauty in most things, we take for granted as we get older. Not sure what i mean? Next time you are next to a child, notice how much they seem to 'see', 'feel' and 'appreciate' what we sadly don't seem to anymore...and we (adults) now call all this mindfulness....ha ha ha

Teach, Learn, Share

I love this saying: when you pray, move your feet

A lot of people have asked me what this is all about. No it has nothing to d with dancing :-)

It is to do with;
The 'praying' many of us do but without the gestures of actually helping those in need, whatever form that may take.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whatever food I have in the house to whatever time, energy, enthusiasm for good conversation ...perhaps over a glass of wine.
