About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live a joyous life, explore the world, and help others in need without exploiting anyone or anything.

ABOUT ME

I have been back in the U.S. for over a year after spending two months in Berlin, Eastern Germany, and the Czech Republic. I spent about a week in Prague and worked on a small fruit and vegetable farm in the Bohemia region for several days. I originally set out for Europe because that was to be the first continent on a journey to tour the globe, however; life is full of riddles and my trip was cut short when I met my husband in the first country that I landed in, Germany! Lol. I definitely do not regret getting married as my husband is the best guy in the world, but I do miss my overseas adventures.

Now, it's my time to host others. I am open to hosting surfers who I have already met before so definitely send me a message if you are in Reno and would like to meet up. *smiles*

Travels so far: the eastern tip of Canada, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Berlin and Saxony-Anhault, Germany, Stockholm and Borlange, Sweden, Prague and the Bohemia region in Czech Republic. I also dream of touring the rest of Europe, Istanbul, Turkey, India, and some parts of the Middle East and Africa.

Currently: I am looking for a roommate here in Reno so definitely contact me if you are going to be in town for a while. The rent is $400+ utilities. Includes wifi, and washer/dryer in unit.

Favorite things to do: Visit museums, try foods from different cultures, hiking, swimming in the ocean, and meet new friends from around the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Be happy, eat lots of tasty foods, travel the world, learn about and experience new cultures, and help others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I will never forget the crazy couchsurfing experience I had when I was visiting a small town in Schneidlingen, Germany. After spending the day in Magdeburg with a friend who was studying at the university there, I missed the last train back to my host's house and I had to walk along a freeway at mignight to get back! It's seems like an adventure now but at the time it was very scary!!!

Unfortunately for me, there must have been some kind of misprint on the train schedule because the electronic schedule showed trains to be running until well after 23.00. After I purchased a ticket for 22.54, I was informed that the last train had already left at 20.24! I also found out that in order to get back to the house of my host, I must board a bus to the town of Shoenebeck, then transfer to a train that would take me to Staßford. From there I had to walk back to my town, which is 45 minutes - 1 hour away by bike! To make matters worse, my bike had a flat tire and I couldn't ride it. I had to park my bike at the train station and walk back to my town at midnight, which is the time I got off the train in Staßford! The trek home was very scary because the bike trails were unlit and were in the middle of the woods. Therefore, I had to walk along the side of the highway, stepping aside each time a car would pass. These streets were also unlit on the highway in certain areas. Luckily, my friend in Magdeburg talked with me on the phone the whole time I was walking to ease my fears and a roadside assistance vehicle stopped and gave me a lift home. Without that lift, I could have been walking for two hours, on a pitch black freeway after midnight. Yikes!

By the way, I am now married to the friend who made me miss the train that night, lol.
