About Me

The best decision I've ever made was to quit my job in 2013 and go travelling. I am thankful for the experiences I've made during my studies and my three years working in the corporate world, but I couldn't identify with it anymore.

During my travels from 2013 to 2016, I have learned more than in the six years before. Travelling gives you the unique opportunity to get to know yourself, to experience new places, sounds, flavours... to challenge your body and mind! To fall in love and have your heart broken. To recover.
To realise that the universe always sends you the person that is best for you in this very moment, sometimes as a support, not infrequently to test and challenge you.

Travelling creates space to cement what you have learnt and make it part of your personality. Get to know yourself! Keep a diary! Discuss!

I studied Social Work and work as a social worker now to make a positive impact on people's lifes and maybe a little on our society as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Imagine having a friend in every city in the world: that friend invites you to crash his/her place, takes you to their favourite restaurant and hangs out with you for a while. You share old stories and exchange new ideas, they give you advice on what to do when they are busy. They give you a big hug and warm farewell as you leave, and tell you to come back one day.

I have been on Couchsurfing for quite a few years now. I surfed couches in Italy, Australia, Germany, Austria, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, and hosted a couple of times myself which always involved a lot of cooking and eating.

Couchsurfing is also a great way of meeting people. I always enjoyed CS meet ups, and have also found some cool travel mates using CS a platform.

I disagree with how CS gets misused sometimes: many people just consider it a cheap way to stay somewhere. If you stay with me, I would actually appreciate getting to know you and spending quality time together (if schedules permit, of course).

Interests

I like to be active and use my time to try new things and learn.

Hiking or cycling is a great way to see a country and it's nature. When I travel, I prefer to spent more time in the countryside that in the capital.
I like yoga and meditation, cooking and baking, beer tasting and going to the cinema.

I like to find out how to live lightly on our planet and how to be self-sufficient (growing your own veg, making your own power, how to built your own eco-house, etc.).

I studied Social Work in Osnabrück from 2016 to 20 and work as a social worker in Berlin now.

Music, Movies, and Books

my sister is the one to ask about music, she is the one who recommends bands and songs to me

for the past years, I have been reading books that I found in 2nd Hand Shops or in the swap book shelves in hostels - you can't be picky!

My favourite movie is "Inglorious Basterds", but I am also a fan of ALL Disney movies :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

giving an injection to my brother who was recovering from a broken leg at home - if you are not a nurse, or a doctor, have you ever done this? it's really interessting (though my brother was a bit scared, haha...)

overnight sea kayaking in Doubtful Sound (NZ). I have never experience such a calm, peaceful and remote area. No one within a couple of hours. No light pollution, no disturbing noises, watching the sun rise over the fiord was just incredibly amazing. However, this was all topped be dolphins coming along our way on the second day, and swimming under our kayaks! New Zealand is an magical place.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have really good MS Excel skills, and my cooking and baking isn't too bad either.
