About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To get the hell out of Dodge (aka Ottawa)....whenever I get the chance
ABOUT ME
I am a country girl at heart living in the city. I jump at new opportunities and love new experiences. Keeping the happiness and sunshine surrounding me (most times).
I started out my career working with at-risk youth, wanted to try something new....so I took up teaching first aid/ medical first response then a couple years later jumped into an opportunity to work in finance (strange) which lead to emergency preparedness.
PHILOSOPHY
I have the no strings in life approach, I stay away from anything that holds me so permanently in one place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am not sure yet....still new.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Not through this site, but I have received the generosity of many while traveling across Canada. Was nice to offset sleeping in ditches, with a couch and a hot shower!
Interests
My evening are jam-packed with various dance classes (east coast and west coast swing, pole, ballroom, argentine tango, blues...) I enjoy hunting, woodworking, and sewing (to name a few). Love to snowboard (even after breaking a leg last year), and now cannot wait for snow! Would love to attempt kite surfing:)
I love to be outside, go swimming, rollerskate, jump in a canoe or spend a few days living off food cooked over an open fire and camping out. I've always enjoyed spending time dancing the night away or in a quiet out-of-the-way place playing cards. I tap dance on my kitchen floor (annoying my neighbours no doubt), do aerials in the pool, sing in the shower and love to meet new people!
I enjoy heading off to something involving the arts (festivals, museums, street buster) or acting like a tourist in my own town every now and again.
And lastly, I love languages! Not saying that I can speak any...but I'd love the guidance. My ultimate dream would be to spend a month or two dropped into a country (Russia as a good example) and really see how much language/ culture I could learn trhough immersion!

Music, Movies, and Books
Any oldies I love....Top Hat is hands down my favourite. But besides Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, I enjoy watching Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, James Stewart, Audrey Hepburn, etc....
I enjoy any music I can dance to!
Books are like music, really too many to name. Whatever peaks my interest at the time (e.g., biographies, elizabethan era, horror, erotica, mystery)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveled across Canada with a group of completely different people (while in school). This to experience our grand country and learn first hand some of the issues communities face. Ruined me for traveling as now I crave it (perhaps a little too much for my budget)!
Teach, Learn, Share
Pass on my knowledge of self-learned carving:) Share my love and happiness of everyday life!
