About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to make a home in Barcelona...

ABOUT ME

My profile is in dire need of an overhaul after the wonderful CS experiences I've had, once I settle down, it's top of the list, first I need to settle down, that's top top of the list ;) on to the old stuff...

If I told you everything we'd have nothing to talk about. Well you could talk and I could listen, that would pretty much suck cause I'm Puerto Rican and from a big family, so I enjoy my talking. I'll try to cover the basics and the juicy stuff we can cover in person ;) Although when I start writing I get carried away, so here goes...

I've traveled around the US/Puerto Rico and went on one cruise, other than that, I've never adventured, I'm soooooooo excited to spend a month and a half in Europe! Honestly I don't have the words to explain this state of bliss I am currently in and how happy I am to have learned about this community! My only gripe is that I don't have more time, I want to take it all in!

This is my first time leaving the US, 1st time couch surfing, makes me a little nervous yet extremely excited! I decided that it's time to put my dreams into action so I gave myself this gift for my birthday. I'm 38 but young at heart and vibrant spirit! My friends range from early 20's on up and all walks of life, this includes my girlfriends and the guys who I've dated, age really doesn't exist in my world, it's all about who you are as a person :) I really enjoy meeting new people, especially ones exuding awesomeness :p Feel free to say hi...

I moved from my apartment in order to save money for this trip which I am throwing together on a whim and rather quickly. I'm semi-homeless while couch-surfing with friends. I'm beyond fortunate to have such great friends. Just got my first passport that was quite an experience since I had to go down and give my life history to prove my identity, turns out I'm really me. I nearly had a heart attack when I got the letter in the mail just a few days after I bought my ticket to Spain, that I did not give convincing evidence to prove my identity. They now have everything but a DNA sample.

Me, the short version...I'm the oldest of 6 kids, I have no idea how my mom did it or what she was thinking. Most of my fam lives in Florida but I am lucky to have my sis close in San Diego. It was unfortunate that my very hippie parents ended up in conservative Jacksonville, FL. It's a fine place for many, just not my cup of tea, so I consider LA my hometown.

You might find this interesting or at least provide some insight into my personality:
-I was raised as a vegetarian, I know consider myself a pescatarian (I eat fish), I think they made this up in California... I won't hold it against you if you eat meat ;)
-Like I said my parents were hippies, when I was in first grade we lived on a commune type community in Tennessee, everything on the barter system, outhouses in the woods, snakes, the works. One of my many brothers was born there. I'm pretty sure everything was vegan, ugh, I hated the soy ice cream! I am an ice cream addict to this day.
-I have 2 ridiculously awesome dogs that I share with an ex, we take alternate weeks. I am still close with most of my ex-boyfriends. I think if you keep everything respectful even when things aren't working, friendship is not a problem.
-I'm a smartass, I think most people tend to take things to literally or seriously, personally I like to laugh :)

Like I said, I tend to get carried away when I start writing...

PHILOSOPHY

Good things come in small packages :P Just kidding! Hmmm... can't really say I have a catchy slogan. I'm a good person with a big heart, I tend to attract those types of people into my life. I give everyone a chance, I'd be lying if I said I mesh with everyone, but I try.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just getting started and would love to lend a couch after I come back from my trip and get my own place. I want to go to some CS events while I travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

I just saw Zombieland, I love movies, way too many to start naming. Music- electronic (trance, house, breakbeats, jungle), hip hop, I even like cheesy top 40 pop. Anything that puts me in a good mood or causes me to bounce around. I have a pretty heavy dislike of country music, no offense to those who like it. Books: Art of Happiness, Marley and Me, I need something new to read...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking in the Colorado Mountains was breathtaking. The cruise I took was pretty amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn as much as possible about the places I'm visiting and the people I meet and I would be happy to share my experiences as well. Maybe I can pick up some more Spanish.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Mexico, Puerto Rico, United States
