About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn as much about the world and its diversity of cultures as possible! We all have something to learn from each other :)

ABOUT ME

I love traveling, eating chocolate and studying languages. Currently, I'm studying my master's in Higher Education at Kent State University in Ohio, and hope to move around the world again when I finish my degree. For now, I'm so lucky to have the opportunity to do an internship in Kuwait for the summer regarding my master's degree. My next mission is to go to Africa and spend a couple years learning about the culture and helping improve the economic development. Somewhere along the way, I'll hopefully master the French and Arabic languages. I love to be outdoors in the wilderness and have an obsession with photography.

PHILOSOPHY

Pura Vida. It's a phrase that Costa Ricans use to say that life is amazing and should be enjoyed to the fullest every day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience was in Amsterdam with my previous roommates. I was pretty skeptical, but it turned out great. Our host invited his friends over, toured the city with us wherever we wanted to go, helped us cook a traditional Dutch dinner and even entertained us in his tiger costume?

Since then I've couchsurfed in Gibraltar, Scotland, and several places in France. Each experience was unique and helped me learn so much more about the culture than if I had stayed at a hotel. I really enjoy getting to meet the people of the places I've visited and making friends around the world :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw my little niece as a newborn baby when she was only two hours old. It was one of the greatest moments of my life and one that I will never forget.

One of my favorite moments was sitting on top of the old fortress walls of Cartagena, Colombia at night and enjoying the view, sounds, and smells of the ocean.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cooking and learning languages, so I'm hoping to continue learning new dishes and grasping more knowledge of Arabic and French. Some of the best food I've ever had was from West Africa and regions of India, Pakistan, and Nepal.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, I'm a native English speaker, so that has its rewards in helping others who wish to learn more of the language. I would also love to cook with others and try new recipes, and talk about traveling the world. I'm pretty easy-going and always looking to try new things!
