ABOUT ME

After I graduated from college, I went to Rwanda for a year where I taught high school at an all girl's school. No running water, little electricity, funny nuns, & lots of adventures.
I've done a little bit of everything, occupation wise. Great, because now I'm settling into a steady one - medicine. I'll be starting med school in the summer/fall 2012 but not sure where yet...
I also have a dog named Roma. She is my heart. We like to go on bike rides - I have an old Peugeot road bike that we take around the neighborhood.

Other than teaching, I like swimming, sleeping on sail boats, eating spicy foods, dancing, making art, and friends.

PHILOSOPHY

love and courage can get you to and through most things

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted and surfed and been very happy!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My last night in Rwanda, I had a dutch triathelete bike from kigali (capital) to my little village town. we made toast and went to the shack for beers with the other male teachers. i was so glad to have someone there to share that last night with. not that i'm afraid of being alone, but such an unexpected connection and friendship really helped through that lonely time. it's beautiful how we humans can help each other out in small ways just by spending time together and learning about each other.

Interests

Roma, cooking, drawing. i would love to garden more effectively and am going to learn how to surf this year.
